Reaching out to breeder

I reached out to a really good working/preservation breeder back in June. Submitted my questionnaire and application and sent an email writing more about myself and my home. They said that they are hoping to have a litter in the fall and should know more by October. Then they invited me to a couple training sessions they host with their dogs. I went to every single training session. It's now October and I'm wondering if I should re-reach out to them to ask about updates or timeline shifts or if I should wait until they get back to me. I know a lot of people go by the "no news it just no news" rule so i'd hate to bug them. It's my first time getting a dog through a breeder so i'm a bit confused on how i should go about this. Any advice would be awesome!

Note: This dog is a water rescue service dog and will be training them for such roles if anyone was curious haha!

Is this a reputable Newfoundland breeder? (New England Area)

Me and my husband have been looking for Newfoundland breeders in the New England area and have been told to only look directly at NCA members. We have reached out to two NCA breeders and are waiting to hear back, however one breeder that recently back to us was Johnson Farms. After reading their contract, I've been seeing some redflags like their requirement to give the NuVet supplement, the contract only provides a replacement puppy if hip dysplasia is so severe that euthanasia is warranted before one year of age. Mild and moderate cases are specifically excluded. Also just the fact that they aren't NCA members makes me weary. They say they compete but so far I have not seen proof. Has anyone else gone through this breeder? If so, i'd love to hear your experience with them and their dogs. I'm looking for any advice here.
