Natural Mice and rat repellents

I have a 5‘ x 10‘ storage unit and while most of the items are in heavy duty plastic bins I do have a few cardboard boxes. I found what looked like rat or mice droppings. I’ve heard mint is a good natural repellent. How much mint would I need? Also, are there any other natural repellents?
