Asus sage trx50 wifi a Mobo, last pcie slot gen 4, but I'm getting gen 5 speeds?

Very strange, I've plugged a 60cm riser cable (linkup gen 5) to the bottom most slot (4rth slot) on my Mobo. From reading the manual this should be a gen 4 pcie x16 slot, but for whatever reason, GPUz, Hwinfo, and pcie bandwidth benchmark in 3dmark are all reading the GPU as gen 5 with close to gen 5 speeds. (57gb/s in 3dmark pcie bandwidth test).

Anybody know what's up? I originally was testing hoping that the riser cable didn't cost me too much bandwidth from gen 4, but was extremely shocked to see gen5 speeds instead.

Did Asus conservatively rated the bottomost slot as gen 4 due to distance, but it is actually traced for gen5?

Open terminal security questions and internet access.

Im experimenting with open terminal in openwebui an wondering if its a good idea to limit/cut off internet access to the ai agent inside open terminal, and just prebake all necessary programs/skills into the docker container instead.

My concern is that with internet access the ai agent could theoretically leak out any personal files or data i drop into the open terminal container. While this cuts the agent's ability to download whatever skills or programs it might need, we can pre-bake all the general ones when we fire up the container, and manually add more over time. This also limits the agents chances of bricking the container by downloading something bad or getting prompt injected. Thoughts?

Looking to run an agent, safety tips?

I've got a pretty good machine but it is my personal PC as well. If I want to dive into Hermes, what's the recommended best way to run it safely? Virtual machine or a separate computer that talks to my main rig?

rtx 6000 pro (blackwell) and qwen 27b mtp

For those with a single rtx 6000 pro, im wondering what tokens per second you are getting running qwen 3.6 27b on BF16 on llama.cpp with mtp? I'm seeing 30ish tokens per second which seems kind of slow. MTP didnt really help either

Threadripper 9000 series is locked at 2:1 ratio?

I wasnt aware of this but apparently no matter what you set your ram speed to , whether 4kmhz all the way to 6k+mhz, your memory clock ratio is always locked at 2:1?

Silverstone hailstone 360 vs xe360?

Xe350 is legendary and proven. Hailstone is newer, half the price, and made for multiple CPU sockets, but claims to have full coverage for threadripper. It also has optional fan addon for ram and vram.

What are the community's thoughts?

New Asus sage trx50 wifi a.... Are these pins bent?

Just opened from microcenter, as you can see when taken from far away it looks like there's a section of pins that is slightly discolored. I tried moving a flashlight around at different angles and the discolored patch doesn't go away. It's extremely hard to tell, and the last few photos which are zoomed in at different angles seem to show the pins are fine. Either way this is the first time I've ever opened a brand new Mobo and seen such an odd patch of pins. I think it doesn't seem right but figured I'd ask here.

Rtx 6000 pro workstation water-cooling and dissassembly

Anybody have a guide that shows exactly step by step with photos on how to disassemble the rtx 6000 pro workstation? I'm about to throw on the Optimus block, but really want to take my time to make sure I don't f up and brick the card. So far I've only found a few videos on YouTube, mostly from Nexus gamers. Was hoping for a more detailed guide somewhere.

For reference I have experience disassembling a 2080ti, so I'm not a total noob. But as this is a $10k card the stakes are quite a bit higher.

Would you go 5090 or 6000 pro today?

Everybody keeps saying 5090 is enough now since you can run qwen 3.6 27b and a 6000 pro isn't really worth the price premium. I'm wondering if you guys think this will continue to stay true? I feel like the 6000 pro at least gives me flexibility to run qwen at full context and no quant, and down the line gives me the ability to run future larger models that may surpass qwen?

The reason I ask is because I'm now debating on my GPU for my AI build. 9970x threadripper, 128gb ddr5 ram. May eventually dual 5090, 5090 + 6000, or dual 6000
