'96 Audi C4 disarm alarm system

For context, I installed a battery into the car after it not having one for a while and attempted to get the car running. However, when the engine starts turning, the alarm system goes off and it seems like the ignition system isn't working. Even the fuel pump primes.

Also, the engine light doesn't show up when I turn the key. Could someone please advise on how to disarm the system?

The electricals are intact since it was stored quite well, but I'm not 100% sure.

2.0L ABK spark plugs

I'm curious to know what spark plugs people run on their 2.0L ABK engines as I'm looking for replacements and OEM matching one's (tri-electrode) are quite pricey and rare from where I am. Any alternative recommendations which are more common?

Restoring my dad's 1995 A6 C4

This 1995 A6 C4 FWD, equipped with the 2.0L ABK engine and a 5-speed manual transmission, featuring the Digifant system, has been in storage for approximately seven years. We have now decided to initiate its restoration. Given my recent university enrollment, my father views this as an opportune project for restoration and subsequent use for my academic commutes.

According to my father and subsequent inspection, the vehicle was placed in storage due to a cracked air flow meter (AFM) plastic housing, which led to vacuum leaks and power interruptions. At the time, sourcing such components online presented significant challenges. Furthermore, our location in Kenya resulted in prohibitive import and shipping costs due to excessive taxes and levies, rendering AFM replacement financially unfeasible. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated its relocation to an alternative storage facility. However, the landscape of international online procurement has since improved.

The vehicle was returned to our premises on New Year's Eve last year, serving as a catalyst for its repair and a deterrent to further procrastination. To date, we have successfully completed an interior cleaning, as demonstrated. We have not yet procured a battery to conduct a comprehensive electrical assessment. It is noteworthy that the vehicle remains free of rust, having been stored on a paved surface throughout its dormancy.

I am seeking expert advice regarding the Digifant system. Should it prove functional, would it be advisable to retain it, or should it be removed? My research indicates that this system is often perceived as unreliable and complex to repair.

I would appreciate any guidance on how to approach this restoration while mitigating potential mechanical complications.
