Overheating 5060/ultra 7 laptop

CPU still hitting 104°C even after power limits and undervolt
I’ve got a laptop with an RTX 5060 and an Intel Core Ultra 7.
I set the CPU to PL1 70W and PL2 90W, and I also undervolted it by -60 mV.
Even after doing that, as soon as I launch a game, the CPU still spikes to 104°C and thermal throttles, then settles around 95°C while gaming. The GPU stays around 85–86°C.
I’m confused because I expected the power limits and undervolt to bring the CPU temps down a lot more.
Is this normal for these laptops and CPUs, or does it sound like something is wrong? I’ve already tried the obvious stuff and I’m not sure what else to do.

Legion 5 ultra 7 CPU thermal throttling to 104°C while gaming

Hey everyone,
I have a Legion 5 15IAX10 with an Intel Ultra 7 and RTX 5060. The laptop is basically new and only has about 46 power cycles.
My issue is that while gaming, as soon as the CPU reaches 104°C, it starts thermal throttling and performance drops. The GPU power also drops and FPS decreases noticeably. This isn’t during extremely heavy gaming either it seems to happen as soon as the CPU hits 104°C.
I’ve already:
Cleaned the cooling system
Repasted it with MX-4 thermal paste
Checked that the fans are working properly
Used Performance mode and dGPU only mode
None of it helped.
I’m trying to figure out whether this is normal behavior for this laptop/CPU or if something is actually wrong. Should a laptop like this be able to run at stock settings without hitting 104°C and throttling during gaming?
Is undervolting considered normal or recommended for this model, or does this sound more like a defect such as poor heatsink contact, a cooling issue, firmware problem, or something else?
Warranty would be a bit difficult for me, but I can try if this sounds like a genuine hardware issue.
Has anyone with this model experienced something similar?
Thanks.
