Hi yall,
I’m a bit nervous to knowing that starting August some of us will be applying to the MSW at CSULB or other universities. That being said I have a few questions especially if you got in, did you already have SW experience? What was your gpa? How many letters of recommendation did you get? From who did you get them? (Professors, academic advisors, employer, etc)?
I’m graduating this semester and I’m still working through my finals 😓 I see everyone doing photoshoots and I can’t even get through my work to enjoy grad yet.

I’m graduating from CSULB with a BA in Sociology this fall 2026. And I’m really thinking of applying to the MSW program at CSULB for fall 2027.
I currently have a 3.6 GPA. I’m trying to connect with some profs to get recommendations, and I’ve mainly worked on campus through student support services. I worked at my city college for 2 years with EOP, volunteered at food banks, and recently worked with student affairs at CSULB. But I don’t have any case management experience or any of that sort 😅
Wondering if I should take a gap year to figure it out or just apply and see how it goes?
I’ve also heard that CSULB is reluctant to accepting CSULB alumni into their MSW program.
Anyone a socio major and find prof Haldipur a total gem or is it just me?
