2mo. old Welwitschia mirabilis pushing roots out of 12" pot!

these little guys are digging!! Just a little over two months since I sowed em and they are pushing roots out of their 11 and 12.5" pots! I was a little worries about these little roots being more suceptible to damage (a broke one of them moving the pots) for watering today) but my understanding is they'll be ok if those get nipped a little.

They're putting out some nice growth on top too. How long do the cotelydons typically last? I've noticed some browning at the tips on some of them but not on their true leaves so figured it was fine.
