Bro the one thing that kills me about having Herpes is the fucking asymptomatic shedding dude. Like fuck man. You’re telling me even when you’re not having an outbreak, there’s still a chance that you might be passing it?? So you just never know?? You could be contagious at any moment?? Like what the fuck. So I have to use condoms forever?? Or never have unprotected oral again?? Like what? The fact that it can shed without showing any symptoms is like, so fucking cruel. Life is so fucking cruel. Idk where to go from here.

For those of you with GHSV2, what’s your stance on receiving oral? I’ve read that the chances of passing HSv2 from genitalia to mouth is extremely low. I’m not getting head with a condom on. That’s pointless and I’m not even gonna ask for that. But yeah what do yall think is it safe?

First time disclosing. Met a cool girl on Hinge that I started to like so I went ahead and let her know. I ended up telling her that I only receive head in relationships, because based off the information I’ve read you can transmit from genital to oral through asymptomatic viral shedding. So I thought I’d want things to be on a more serious level before I feel like I’d introduce someone to that potential risk. I know plenty of sources say it’s safe enough though. So it was probably a mistake to say that. But ultimately she said because she loves to give head that it wouldn’t work. It sucks. It hurts. A lot. But I know every rejection brings me closer to the next yes so I’m going to stay hopeful and just keep going. Patting myself on the back for even taking the first step. I won’t let herpes destroy my peace of mind or my confidence.
