1920s German globe in Slytherin Common Room
I recently did the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Watford, UK, and noticed a prop in the Slytherin Common Room scenery: A globe that seemingly comes from early 1920s Germany. I believe it is pre 1922, as the Irish Free State is not depicted, but post 1919, because West Prussia and Posen are not depicted as part of Germany and the former German colonies of German Southwest Africa (Deutsch-Südwestafrika, now Namibia) and German East Africa (Deutsch-Ostafrika, now Tanzania) are simply called "Südwestafrika" and "Ostafrika" but within the borders of the British colonies, which signals that the handovers that were agreed upon in the Treaty of Versailles had already happened.
The globe can be seen in the Movie "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" in the background at 1:24 h, but not in detail.
I still wonder how they came by that prop. Anyways, enjoy!
