I'm a professional mechanical engineer who's been working in industry for about 12 years. I have been working with my current company for a long time now, but the job has gone stale. Company culture is significantly worse than when I started, progressive staff cuts, extensive list of tasks with less resources, and overbearing micro-mangers.
I've started speaking with my networks, and looking for my next opportunity.
I'm after suggestions on coaching resources, and who I could speak with for realistic guidance on where my next role could be given my skills and experience.
I've noticed when recruiting for staff recently that the format of resume's is a lot shorter/has changed since the early years when I graduated uni. This could be one of a few things I need guidance on in my search.
I've considered approaching some recruiters who have reached out to me in the past, but had a very sour experience with them early in my career. (Pushing into a role, with no regard for my salary expectation, taking a backwards step on what I was already doing).
I'm registered with the required entities so I can work for a company based in any state, and have experience managing a small team of engineers.
I'm not chasing a huge step up the corporate ladder or pay bump, just looking to maintain my professional salary but regain some passion and stimulation.
