Hi everyone! Could you please recommend a good and trustworthy gynaecologist in Rajahmundry?
I (22F) honestly don’t know what to think anymore, and I need some outside opinions because I’m emotionally involved in this situation.
My best friend (22F) and one of my closest guy friends (22M) dated for almost 3 years. She’s Christian and he’s Hindu. They genuinely loved each other, and even though they had ups and downs like every couple, they always managed to work things out.
In the beginning of their relationship, there was a junior girl who kept chasing him even after knowing he had a girlfriend. She threatened self-harm if he stopped talking to her, so instead of handling it properly, he hid the fact that he was in a relationship. My friend eventually found out, they had a huge fight, but after a lot of talking they moved past it.
About 8 or 9 months ago, while she was still with him, she met up with her ex (who is also her cousin because of our culture and family relationships). They only met to clear up some family misunderstandings, but a couple of days later he video-called her. One thing led to another, the call turned sexual, and she later told me she realized halfway through that what she was doing was wrong. She confessed everything to her boyfriend. He was completely shattered, but after a lot of pain he forgave her and stayed with her. I honestly thought that showed how much he loved her.
Around 20 days ago, she suddenly ended the relationship. She told him that the only reason was her family. She said they would never accept an interfaith marriage and that she already knew the answer, so there was no point in even asking them. The thing is, throughout their relationship she had always told him she would at least try. He begged her to let him speak to her parents. He even said he’d convert if that’s what it took. He wasn’t asking her to go against her family—he just wanted one chance to ask. She still refused.
This is where everything became confusing for me.
Just 3 or 4 days after the breakup, she met a guy at an airport. He asked her out, they spent the day together, got a hotel room, and slept together. She later told me everything and kept saying, “I don’t know why I did it. I don’t know what I was thinking.” She’s still talking to him now.
Meanwhile, her ex has no idea any of this happened. He still believes the breakup was only because of her family. He keeps calling me crying, saying he would’ve done anything for her, asking why she gave up without even trying. It’s honestly heartbreaking because he’s also one of my closest friends.
I feel guilty because I know something he doesn’t, but I also don’t think it’s my place to tell him. At the same time, I can’t stop thinking that her actions don’t really match what she’s telling him. If it was only about family, how do you move on that quickly?
I’m not trying to paint her as a villain because she’s my best friend and I know she’s not a bad person. But I also can’t ignore the fact that I feel terrible for him.
Am I being unfair for thinking her actions and her explanation don’t match? And if you were in my position, would you stay out of it or do something?
