Fox New needs to address the Vice Admiral Robert Harward mask incident. This is an issue of integrity.

Whether the admiral is wearing a mask or not, this has drawn a lot of attention. This raises serious credibility questions for Fox News.

Are we to assume they frequently have guests on wearing masks?

Are the mask-wearing guests the actual person they say they are? If so, why are they hiding themselves?

If the mask-wearing people are not who they say they are- why does Fox do this? Are they not able to find suitable guests?

Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino owe it to their audience to address what happened. Are they aware of these practices? Are they behind it, or is it the wider organization?

This incident raises too many questions. For the sake of journalistic integrity, Fox News should do what is right and address this incident.

No Abstinence; No Porn

I often read those posts about quitting porn. A lot of them are similar with a very shameful guy who wants to quit porn, is actively working on quitting, or has quit and begun watching again. Often they speak of quitting masturbation and/or porn cold turkey. They then get extremely upset and defeated when they inevitably masturbate or watch porn. Some perceive porn as a drug, and frame this as a relapse.

The thing is, it’s okay to slip up. It happens. That’s all part of the process, and more importantly, the progress. It’s important we give ourselves grace when working through a personal challenge.

The guilt around masturbating is the part that catches me. I particularly get caught on how I sometimes feel (or see in others) extreme guilt after masturbating, even without any porn at all. The goal of quitting porn is not to stop touching oneself. That is abstinence, which is inherently unnatural for someone that is used to not being abstinent. No wonder there is discomfort when one can’t do the thing — be abstinent — that they never wanted to in the first place.

Masturbating is supposed to be a good thing. Self pressure is good. The goal is not to give up porn and be abstinent; it is to simply have a healthy relationship with your mind and body- without porn. That is not abstinence.

It is okay to masturbate- Just don’t watch porn. One should be proud when they are able to successfully do it without porn. It is okay when one slips up, it happens. Realize in that moment the voice of desire was louder than the voice of reason, and improve next time. Progress not perfection. No abstinence; No porn.
