Dana Chasin (named in coded diary) tries to elbow his way into the Doe v Black case.
I'm pleased to say I've finally posted another Substack.
It is entirely free, but because more people read if I copy-paste the content into here, I'll do that, Last time I did that, some of the links didn't come through. I do encourage you to visit the Substack page. I like watching my readership numbers go up.
Dana Chasin: Trying to hitch a ride with Leon Black: Washington DC links in Epstein victim’s diary
You don’t need to own an airplane to fly someone to NYC
Jul 05, 2026
This is part 8 of a continuing series on the Washington, D.C. links in an Epstein victim’s diary. Click here to start at the beginning and to see the table of contents.
One of the many people that Jane Doe speaks of in her diary is Dana Chasin. Before I get to what she says, I’ll tell you a bit about him.
Who is Dana Chasin?
“Dana Chasin [is] an heir of the Rockefeller family fortune … Chasin has been a fixture in progressive circles for decades. His stepmother, Laura Rockefeller Chasin, was a fourth-generation member of the Rockefeller family, and Chasin’s former employees say he leverages his family’s vast wealth to rub shoulders with powerful Democrats. Prior to launching 20/20 Vision in 2017, Chasin served as an economic policy adviser for Hillary Clinton’s failed 2016 presidential campaign. He also served in the offices of Sen. John Tester (D., Mont.) and former Sen. Mark Dayton (D., Minn.)”
Also, 1966 – 2003 he was Vice President, Global Project Finance team, at Société Générale, the French bank that lent Dan Snyder $340 million to help him buy the Washington Commanders.
Despite being a Rockefeller heir (although not actually a Rockefeller), he is one of the least important people I’ve been researching. The only reason I’ve chosen to write about him is that he elbowed his way into the Jane Doe vs Leon Black lawsuit. (It also really annoys me that despite allegations that he literally trafficked Jane Doe, there have been no charges filed against him. Perhaps that is due to statute of limitations rather than his family name.)
The Diary References to Dana Chasin
In the Year 16 diary, Jane Doe writes that Dana Chasin flew her to NYC.
From Ellie Leonard’s diary transcription
“Thank God my parents picked me up. For being a Rockefeller that plane Mr Dana had me on was scary!”
Her former lawyer, Jeanne Christensen, elaborates in an email:
>[redacted] drove her up to NYC after she got so air sick on Dana Chasin (Rockefeller’s) small prop plane the last time to Epstein’s NYC townhouse.
also (same email)
>“[readacted] knew Dana Chasin and that is how [redacted] was flown to NYC the first time (where she had sex with Larry Summers). At a later date, [redacted] flew with [redacted]. and Dana Chasin somewhere else, I am forgetting where right this moment.
Repercussions
Unlike far too many of the men named in the diary, Dana did have backlash after his name was published. A political fundraiser that he was set to co-host was cancelled, and a candidate he previously supported redirected his donations to charity.
Understandably, Chasin was not happy about this development, and he looked for legal recourse. He found a possibility in the ongoing proceedings of Jane Doe vs Leon Black. (Surprisingly, he has been the only person mentioned in the diary who has tried to do this.)
I do not have any legal training and will not try to explain the background for how Mr. Chasin was able to find legal standing for doing this, because I will surely get something wrong in the explanation.

INTRODUCTION
In 2023, Plaintiff Jane Doe sued Defendant Leon Black, claiming that she was sexually assaulted by Mr. Black while being trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein as a minor in the early 2000s. Many of the details in her Amended Complaint are drawn from a journal she purportedly kept at the time. In January of this year, the Department of Justice (“DOJ”) released that journal, as well as communications between Ms. Doe’s former attorney and DOJ prosecutors. In those documents, Ms. Doe and her former attorney claim that Ms. Doe once travelled to Jeffrey Epstein’s New York City home on a plane belonging to Dana Chasin. Those statements are false. Mr. Chasin never met Jeffrey Epstein. He never communicated with Jeffrey Epstein. He never visited any of Jeffrey Epstein’s properties. And he has never owned or leased a plane. Despite the utter falsehood of Ms. Doe’s fabrications, their release caused Mr. Chasin immediate and severe harm. …
Again, these claims are false. Mr. Chasin has never owned or leased a plane, much less a “small prop plane,” and he never met Jeffrey Epstein, communicated with Jeffrey Epstein, or visited any of his properties. But when the Department of Justice released copies of Ms. Doe’s journals and of her counsel’s communications with prosecutors at the end of January 2026, the damage to Mr. Chasin’s reputation was swift and severe. Mr. Chasin is a policy advisor and political fundraiser. After Ms. Doe’s false claims became public, a political fundraiser that Mr. Chasin was set to co-host was cancelled. A candidate he previously supported redirected his donations to charity. Employees at his organization quit, and he has been unable to hire replacements. Many of his personal and professional contacts stopped associating with him.
I might not have any legal training, but I do have a grasp of logic and an ability to read between the lines.
“Mr. Chasin has never owned or leased a plane, much less a ‘small prop plane,’ “
- This sentence strongly implies that Mr. Chasin had a pilot’s license. If he did not have one, I believe that fact would have been the first thing said.
- There are more ways of obtaining an airplane than to own one or lease one. It is possible to rent one and, of course, to borrow one.
“He never met Jeffrey Epstein, communicated with Jeffrey Epstein, or visited any of his properties.”
- When you fly on a commercial airline, does the pilot know the person you will be meeting when you get to your destination? Have they been to that person’s house? How would that be different for the pilots of private aircraft?
- We know that Epstein had assistants who arranged transportation. It would not have been necessary for Mr. Chasin to have ever communicated with Epstein himself. Not only that, Ms. Christensen said that someone in Jane Doe’s circle knew Mr. Chasin. It might be that person is the one who communicated with Mr. Chasin about getting a flight to New York.
“Employees at his organization quit, and he has been unable to hire replacements.”
- It can be hard to get employees when you’ve recently been found guilty of wage theft. Nov 2023: “[Dana Chasin], a Democratic megadonor and Hillary Clinton adviser who warned about the dangers of wage theft was fined over $168,000 for systematically stealing wages from his employees. … [He] misclassified the entire workforce at his advocacy firm, 20/20 Vision, as independent contractors instead of employees, Schwalb said. As part of his penalty, Chasin will have to pay over $118,000 in restitution to 21 current and former employees whom he allegedly deprived of overtime wages and sick leave.
- It can be even harder to get employees when your Glassdoor reviews are so hilariously bad.
I did not “pick and choose” just the bad reviews. There were only these three.
Honestly, I think the employees that left were relieved to have had the opportunity and it is quite obvious why he hasn’t been able to hire anyone else.
Like I said, I have no legal training, but after seeing these reviews, his argument that he has been severely harmed by the allegations in the diary is hilarious! Mr. Chasin, if you are reading this, I’m sorry, but perhaps you need to look to the owner of your company to find the reason that you cannot get new employees.
Many of his personal and professional contacts stopped associating with him.
Personal contacts? Is that another way of saying “friends”? If so, your lawyers should NOT have put that into their argument; it all but says “His friends think he is guilty.”
