Estrogen and urination issues.

Ok, last time I posted on sleep issues you were all so helpful!

My current issue is having to pee 3 to 4 times a night! Very annoying! I am 67 so definitely post menopausal. I have been using Estradiol one to two days a week for dryness. I have tried a product called Estring. Estring is a slow release estrogen ring that you insert into your vagina and leave there for 90 days. I actually loved it, but I felt like it was causing me low grade anxiety so I stopped. Now I'm realizing my anxiety may be something else entirely and have since returned to taking Zoloft again.

Anyway, has anyone else had success with Estring or Estrogen in general helping with frequent urination?

Thank you!

Anyone peeing alot at night?

Ever since starting Sertraline I've been getting up 3 and 4 times a night to pee. I am older but geeze. I can't get a good night sleep. I'm on week 5 of 25mg. Most of the side effects have stopped but still feel off here and there.

Tired..switch from AM to PM experience anyone?

Hi everyone! I'm on day 28 of 25mg and I'm feeling pretty good but tired most of the day.

Love to hear from others if it helped taking Sertraline in the evening instead of the morning? I'm sleeping pretty well so that's not the issue.

I've taken it before and I've always had that problem BUT I was hoping that maybe it might help taking it in the evening. It's probably something that I'm going to have to deal with. The alternative is to have anxiety. I'll take being sleepy.

25 days 25mg..seeing some hope.

Well it's been a rough road but I'm starting to see more good day's than bad.

I started out slow at 12.5mg for almost 3 weeks. I still felt side effects. I'm older and a bit more sensitive to the meds. Second time around.

I'd like to stay at 25mg to keep my anxiety down if not gone. Four weeks in we'll see. Going to give it another week or so.

As of now I'm still getting anxious leaving the house. Which I try to force myself out the door.

I was on it for 4 years over a year ago for anxiety. At that time I was up to 75mg. It did wonders! And of course like many of us I got off because I felt so good! Anxiety slipped it's way back in. I wanted to stop it before it got out of hand.

My worst side effect over time was being tired. Had to nap everyday. I was taking at night. This time around I'm trying it during the day. I'm finding that I'm tired soon after taking it and then again around 3 in the afternoon. Still thinking about switching back to nights.

Would love to hear from others. It's always helpful! I'm so thankful for all of you! ❤️

Any suggestions to help with sleep? Prescription?

Hi everyone! I'm 67 and have been dealing with sleep issues since menopause at 45!

I'd like to know what everyone is using or taking to help them sleep. I've taken Melatonin, and for years Ativan. Which I found out later can possibly add to Altzheimer's. I also take Magnesium.

Lately I'm lucky if I get 6hrs of sleep. Makes it rough to be motivated.

I should also say I'm only 3 weeks in on Zoloft for anxiety which isn't helping.

REALLY?! DAY 20

I'm on day 20 of 25mg. Today was a weird day. I've been having anxious thoughts and adrenaline up and down. I had such a good day yesterday. Frustrated.

I'm trying really hard to stay on 25mg due to being tired on Sertraline. This is my second time around. I saw my GP the other day. She said give it a little longer to see whether or not I feel better before trying to increase. I'm doing this as slow as possible because I seem to be pretty sensitive this time around. And I'm 5 years older.

Anyone else around the same time frame and struggling?

Day 13 on 25mg increase

On day 13 on increase to 25mg from 12.5mg. I think I'm getting over the hump. I have been sleeping better but still having side effects after I take it in the AM. My eyes get heavy and I feel tired. Still a bit jittery and grumpy. I think it's frustration wanting to feel better. It's better but still not there.

Yesterday I had a dr appointment on an unrelated issue. My blood pressure and heart rate were both high. Usually I'm nervous but not like that! So I know I'm not quite there yet. I think the side effects just amplified my anxiety.

I may have to increase but I think I'll hang at 25mg for a bit. See how I feel.

How's everyone else doing at this stage?

Zoloft 2nd time around.

I'm sorry I can't be more positive but grrr! I started back on Sertraline 3 weeks ago today. Started with 12.5mg and titrated up to 25mg 6 days ago. I had such hope that doing it slowly that it would help with side effects, but in my case it hasn't been so. I'm still dealing with anxiety, heart palpitations in the middle of the night. Along with hot flashes and some nausea. Which means I'm not eating well.

I know we're all different but I'm becoming frustrated. I won't stop but this is wearing me out. I'm so thankful for all of you and the positive stories and support. It's always helpful that there are many of us out there going through the same thing!

Anyone out there that can be uplifting are share your journey is always helpful. I search this site constantly to help me realize what I'm going through is normal!!

Day 13 on 12.5mg

When will I be happy and content again? Soon I hope. May have to increase to 25mg soon. I'm still having some side effects, I think. Unless it's still my anxiety. Hard to tell.

Anyone else with trying to stick to a low dose?

12.5mg..at what point do I know to increase to 25mg?

This isn’t my first time taking Sertraline. I'm starting out slowly. Tonight will be day 7. I'm still feeling anxiety here and there throughout the day. Jitters too.

What I'm wondering because I don't remember how I did it last time, if I should start the 25mg tomorrow? I'm trying to avoid as much side effects as possible.

I would love to hear from other's who did it this way and what their experience was.

I'd like to stay at 25mg for awhile to see how I do. I worked my way up to 75mg last time.

Back on Sertraline..starting low dose, 12.5mg

Anyone else start out this low? Did it help with the side effects? I know doing it this way will take time, but I really want to avoid the anxiety that comes with starting Sertraline.

I got off of it the same way. Didn't have horrible side effects. Mainly headaches and brain zaps.

Would love to hear from other's that start out very slow like this.

Thanks!
