Hey All, I need some help deciding between 2 agencies that are canvassing me. I have passed the written and physical for both agencies. Both agencies are local, so the commute is a non issue. My issue comes in here. I’ve already completed and passed a poly for Agency A (they reached out to me first). Agency A will only officially offer me a job once they complete the background process. Agency B wants me to accept a conditional offer based on a clean background, and I would have to inform Agency A that I have accepted a conditional with Agency B. At that point, Agency A would cut me loose and stop by background process. I feel like my foot is already half way into the door with Agency A, so I would be restarting my process completely. This is my conundrum. I’m completely torn as to what to do and how to proceed with this choice. I’d really appreciate any insight

Agency A:
8hr shift
5 on 2 off
Every 3rd weekend is Fri Sat Sun off
No mandatory OT
OT is slightly limited overall, list comes out every month, and senior guys get 1st dibs
20yr retirement
top base pay is ~15k/yr above agency B, but that gap could narrow, as Agency B is due for a new contract at the end of this year

Agency B
8hr shift
5 on 2 off
Unlimited OT
25yr retirement
Bigger department so there’s a bit more flexibility as far as how you want to do the job, agency A is a bit more micromanaged from what I have gathered
