Item Power explained for beginners in detail:
1.) IP -> Item Power -> This is a value that indicates how strong an item is or how strong you are when equipping it. Every item gets an increase to most of the stats [HP, Damage, Armor, Magic Resistance, Health Regeneration, Mana , Mana Regeneration, Cooldown for most Capes]
- Base Item Power [BIP] -> the Item Power an item has just from the tier, enchantment and quality. (You can see it if you open the inventory and click on the arrow)
a.)Tier -> 8 Tiers for items exist. Every Tier gives you +100 Item Power and you see them at the top left corner. The tier of an item can't be changed.
[T4 = 700 , T5 = 800 , T6 = 900 ...]
b.) Quality -> 5 qualities exist and they all give a different bonus to Item Power and are indicated by the border around an item: Normal [+0] , Good [+20] , Outstanding [+40] , Excellent [+60] , Masterpirce [+100]. The colors of the borders in order are: Grey, Blue, Bronce, Silver, Gold. Those can be increased by the repair shop for silver with a certain chance [pictures 2 and 3]
c.) Enchantment: Those are equal in bonus item power like tiers. Items can have enchantments 0 to 4. They are shown by "dots" at the bottom of an item and each dot gives +100 Item Power.
The number of colored dots shows the enchantmentlevel (no dot is not enchanted e0 , green dot = e1 , blue dots = e2 , purple dots = e3 , golden dots = e4)
Those can be increased by the Artifact Foundary [picture 4 and 5]
To increase them you need specific artifacts of the same tier as the weapon [picture 6]. Runes (left) from e0->e1 , Souls (middle) from e1->e2 , Relics (right) from e2->e3. Enchantment 4 can only be crafted yourself, but that doesn't matter right now.
Also the numbers of runes/souls/relics needed for an upgrade are always the same for the same type of item:
Weapons [2 hand] = 384 ; Weapons [1 hand/Main-Hand] = 288 ; Chest/Bag = 192 ; Head/Boots/Cape/Off-Hand = 96.
- Destiny Board : the order i am explaining seems weird but it makes sense soon. By pressing B you can open it. There you see a lot of stuff... you see how you unlock items and what "level/spec" you have on them. I am not going too much into detail now about this but every item can be leveled up by just having it equipped by getting fame from killing monsters as example. Every weapon, head, chest, boot and offhand can be leveled up. You get bonus IP from leveling an item [picture 7]
a.) Mastery Bonus -> [picture 1 the black box] this is the bonus from leveling the item you see for the Item Power.
b.) Mastery Modifier -> [also picture 1] from item Tier 5 to 8 (5 = 5% , 6 = 10% , 7 = 15% and 8 = 20%) this is another bonus for the mentioned tiers and the bonus only applies to the mastery bonus.
I hope this kinda guide will help beginners a little bit to understand what strength in this game looks like (i did this while watching a series so if something is wrong or missing i am sorry)
If this guide is good i can do more if you think it's shit or useless just tell me (please be nice...!)
Sidenote: if you investigate another player and the total item power looks low even with higher tier items please check if they are using a cape. A lot of players fake their item power to be low by not wearing a cape which makes a lower difference to actual strength than other items.
