First FNAF Cosplay Build: Aussie Mum Looking for Withered Foxy Advice!

My daughter would like to attend Supanova and Comic-Con next year as Withered Foxy from FNAF.

The attached Enderman costume is one I made for her a few years ago, but this would be our first attempt at a proper large-scale cosplay build. Needless to say, this looks a bit more advanced than cardboard cubes and paint. 😅

I'm completely new to the cosplay world and would love some advice on where to start:

🦊Any good beginner tutorials for building animatronic/FNAF costumes?

🪡🧵What materials are commonly used for something like this? (EVA foam, upholstery foam, faux fur, PVC, etc.)

🎥Are there any YouTube creators you'd recommend for learning the basics?

🦘Any Australian suppliers that are good for cosplay materials and tools?

We're aiming for something wearable, sturdy, and recognisable rather than screen-accurate perfection, especially since this will be our first build at this scale.

Also, is the reference photo actually Withered Foxy, or is it a fan-made interpretation of the character? My daughter says it's Withered Foxy, but I'm still learning the FNAF universe!

Any tips, tutorials, supplier recommendations, beginner mistakes to avoid, or general words of wisdom would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you! 😊

Who do you all shop with for groceries?

We currently shop at Woolworths. I honestly can’t stand Coles, but lately I’m wondering if Aldi might be the better option.

We use the Woolworths Rewards app and don’t really mind the data side of things for now, though I guess that could become an issue later. What I’m not sure about is whether the rewards are actually worth it in the long run or if it just feels like we’re saving.

I’m not super keen on doing big multi-store shops, but I do realise no single place has everything. I’m at a small centre where Woolworths, Coles and Aldi are all close together, so I’m happy to duck into one of the bigger ones for specific items if needed.

Would love to hear what others are doing. Do you stick with one store, mix it up a bit, or find Aldi comes out on top for value?
