Stickers or Paint?

I’m going to cosplay as this character from the anime Demon slayer soon. I’ve already figured out how to paint my face white, I’m just trying to figure out how to do the red circles she has on her face. I found these face sticker that are specifically made for the character, but I’m wondering if they’ll stay? Is it worth it to get these, or will it be better to just paint them? Will the stickers stay for a whole convention?

Am I being a sore loser

hallo! im 15 and been cosplaying since I was about 11 and ever since then I have been completely hand making my own cosplays. I completely get sewing and all the parts of cosplay are skills that get learned over time, however I feel like my skills are good enough to win a tiny local event. i have not once won a competition for cosplay for anything. I patterned and crafted this all completely myself and everything was lined with thought and care. the competition needed atleast 80% handmade to enter and I got a bit upset at the end when a furry who had made just made a head and admitted to me that their parents made the rest for them (It also wasn’t a complete fursuit) I went home and got really upset because it feels like my work hasn’t been appreciated ever by outside sources. Anyways! Any tips on how to improve my cosplay or how to make loosing suck any less is much appreciated:)

Doc Ock cosplay

Is there a heat-friendly version of doc ock? from every universe. Going to a con and I don't want to wear a leather jacket and a raincoat... So I was hoping to find a more heat-friendly version. If I can't find anything it would be ok too, I'm gonna figure something out.

How to attatch a tube to my wrist in a way that points to my palm

So I have a smoke machine hidden within my jacket and a fish tank air tube running down my sleeve and a fake tattoo made out of nylon, but the tube won't stay in my palm.

I've tried a watch and a bracelet but neither keep it from rotating in place which causes the smoke to not go into my palm. I've been using zip ties but that's not super comfortable or practical.

I would prefer the opening in my palm but I'm good with any and all suggestions.

What do we think?

Genderbent Hoshimachi Suisei

I was thinking about doing a genderbent cosplay of Suisei for anime frontier since she's my oshi and all. I wanted to try building her signature outfit with individual pieces as much as possible without only just buying a cosplay set online. If ya'll find any pieces similar to outfit I'd be grateful if you share it.

Cosplay Wings for Albedo (Overlord)

Hi Everyone! I could really use some tips/suggestions as I am planning to cosplay Albedo from overlord for a con next year. I am planning to make her wings from scratch likely using foam for the feathers. However I am having a hard time figuring out how to make a lower back harness for the wings as well as what to make them out of so I am able to bend them in and out if I would like.

For the harness it would be nice if I was able to slot the wings in and pop them out if I want to take them out temporarily but I don’t know if that is too ambitious as I would still have to figure out how to hide the harness under both cosplay outfits for Albedo.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Cosplaying Marvel Black Cat as a Gymbro

Hi, today I had the idea that it would be really interesting to wear a feminine Black Cat cosplay as a man at a convention. The problem, however, is that I love training for strength and building muscle. How can I conceal my muscles or use them to my advantage? Do you have any tricks and tips for looking as feminine as possible in order to create an impressive cosplay/crossplay?

What kind of top would match this skirt for Ren Faire?

Can someone please help me find a top that goes with this skirt? 😭 I’ve tried SO many different tops, but nothing seems to look right with it! I’m going to the Renaissance Festival this weekend, so I’m hoping to find something that works with the skirt and fits the ren faire vibe. Any suggestions would be VERY appreciated! 🫶💞

Help removing a design from an old cosplay item!

Hi! I’m not 100% sure if this is the correct place to ask but figured other cosplayers would have the best advice!
I’ve been in and out of cosplay for a few years now and I have this old Attack On Titan cloak I got when I was deep in my anime phase. I recently dug it out and thought it would be cool to dye black and wear as a fashion item but I’m not sure how to remove the Wings of Freedom design off the back. It almost looks like a sticker, and I’ve included a photo where you can see the print is kind of cracked where the cloak has been folded. I’m on a bit of a budget so household items would be the best! The fabric itself is listed 65% cotton, 35% polyester. Thanks in advance!

I ripped my armor

After 7 individual days of fighting my armor, using the duck tape mannequin whatever method to make a pattern I can't make a simple chest plate. I don't know how to make it size properly, no matter how much I redo, add, subtract, adjust not a single time has it fit correctly.

Idk I thought cosplay was like a creative outlet 😭 and fun I didn't know you needed 80+ years in architecture and a masters in black magic. My fist are balled, my teeth are clenched, and my project is in the trash 🗑️. If there are any tips, magic spells, or something else I'm missing can you please help me out 🙂‍↕️ I'm not giving up just starting over.

My friend thinks I'm the foam guy cause I did a single shoulder pad and a few weapons, but honestly I'm stumped with chest plates or maybe I'm mentally screaming I can't so thust I can't 😭 idk

Does anyone know where I can get these props?

I’ve been going to cosplay conventions for a couple years, and I always like getting more prop weapons for my cosplays. I’ve been looking online on where to find these exact props or ones that are similar to the ones I own so I can collect them, but no luck. I assume the probably outsource from China or something.

How could I make chest fur?

Hi! I'm thinking on doing my first cosplay and I wanna do Ren Hana from the ykmet:strade game. He has white chest and armpit fur. I'm not sure of doing the armpit one but I wanna add the chest fur.

It doesn't look like normal hair so normal methods don't add up for me but adding a whole patch of furry cloth might look bad. I was thinking on cutting fake feathers and glueing them with eyelashes glue. Any help or ideas?

In the image it looks like lots of fur but is just a small patch in the middle of the chest really

Sealing foam clay on a bendy snake

I am finishing up a large snake that wraps around my body. The skin is made of foam clay I plan to paint and am looking for advice on what might be best to seal the foam clay before painting.

My main concern is the bottom twisty section as it keeps flexing and I'm worried about peeling. I'm thinking plastidip may be best but I would love any advice or insight anyone has.

Advice/help

I’ve wanted to get into cosplay for a while now but no one in my inner circle of friends participates in any form of cosplaying so I’d really like any advice. I’m a huge horror nerd and one of my favorite characters is Art the Clown. I grew up watching the old show and enjoy the Terrifier movies now too. I really want to go full out for Halloween this year but have no idea where to start. I know his character has gotten popular in recent years and so there’s plenty of Halloween/costumes stores that carry Art stuff but all of it feels/looks cheap and slightly off. Does anyone have experience with this cosplay or have any advice on general? I really want to make it look as realistic as possible, I’ve even started learning making latex prosthetics to see how difficult it would be to create a whole mask as the ones in the store seem slightly off. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Who should I cosplay? 3 day convention in less than a month

Really just looking for characters with similar hair, I suppose. I hate wearing wigs but I love cosplaying, any ideas welcome.

How can I make this better? OC cosplay

Edit for misunderstanding‼️: I used ‘OC’ wrong, this is not based off of character I have a preconceived idea of!
I didn’t want to buy a lot of extra things for a cosplay (like a character costume or smth), so I want to make something cool looking out of what I have in my closet!
I want to make this look like a proper costume, so advice on accessories, body paint, or anything else.

(Fantasy) Armour layers? No

Lord and Ladies, Sirs and Maidens,

I have progressed in my acquisition of armour but alas I am running into issues understanding my layers. Please Help!
As a base layer I have a basic linen shirt, over that I was thinking a quilted gamberson or jacket. Over this I would have the chainmail. I eventually want to create my very own coat of arms (with my sparrow hawk emblem) onto a tabard.
I will then have helmet, gorget, pauldrons, knee and greaves as well as Spoleto and gauntlets as the final outer layer. (I will probably have a belt with wine skin and pouches to finish off) what do you all think and do you think I should change anything. I realise I haven’t got any trousers on at this point but I may go for linen trousers with padded chausses to complete the look.
What do you all think and should I consider anything else?
Thank you all eternally for the continued patience and wit when engaging with a simple low-born.
EDIT I am aware of the obvious AI images however the real thing is being created by my smith who made my helmet and they are happy to create it to a “realistic” standard.l
