Thoughts on using iReady at home?

I’m a mom of 5.5 year kindergartener. He is in a waistlist for autism evaluation . I volunteer in his clasroom everyday after their lunch until dismissal since he shows that by the afternoon his behaviors become difficult to handle. Me and the teacher have a great parent/teacher relationship and this opportunity has helped me establish stern boundaries on expectations during school and be able to continue those demands at home.

My question is regarding the use of iReady iPad activities. His class just finished their math assessment and today was the first day they each did a full math lesson on their own iPads . I wa able to see what the kids do and the coin system it gains by finishing lessons to then play a game on the platform.

Not sure if I’m a fan of this iReady tool but it’s something the school district does. However looking at my kid and honestly the whole classroom this kids answer most times had nothing to do with the shat the app asks . And not bc they aren’t intelligent . But the visuals vs instructions are not in a way that I consider coherent for 5year olds. Is there any teachers here that recommend the use of iReady lessons at home with a parent so the kid has an adult to slow things down and really explain what is being asked before clicking a random answer?

Kindergarten aide help

Hi! I’m a mom of a kindergartener that currently is getting evaluated for behavioral support both in school and medically. In the meantime I am volunteering as the classroom aide to help manage my son’s behavior.

There’s around 27 kids in the classroom and I help as much as I can with the other kiddos to make sure the classroom is running smoothly

I’m not a professional in teaching or education, I’m just a mom that wants to help.

Is there any tips or guidance anyone can give me in this group ? So far in the classroom the kids that become dystergulated seem to seek me for comfort, I walk around and give stickers when they are in tasks and help redirect them individually when I see them doing something they may not be supposed to.

**For context the classroom my son attends had an aide for two weeks but no longer has one. Hence why I try to volunteer to help out his teacher

I’m struggling

Is anyone able to spot me $20 for gas this week? I’m behind so many bills this paycheck and have no way to put gas in my car to go to work next week. I get paid on the 1st of August. I have food in the pantry for me and my son. I can work side jobs like DoorDash/instacart to get out of this slump that I’m in. But if anyone is able to help me with little bit of gas I can drive my car to work and DoorDash orders and earn extra money to get out of being overdrafted.
