Beaches fee

Hello! My family and I are looking at Curacao as a potential destination for a trip next January/February. I'm reading a lot of contrasting information about the price to pay to enter a beach.

Does anyone have a breakdown of what the fees are for each Beach? And is it the case that you pay the fee and also and get a Sunbed/Parasol or we have to pay just to be able to enter the beach? Thanks a lot!

Lens adapter advice needed

I found a Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS M Lenses (with removable tripod mount) for 65 euro (second hand), I'm very new to the world of photography, is this a decent price for it?

At the moment I only have the 15-45mm lens and want to get a new one. I would mainly use it for street/landscape and travel photography. Any advice on what to buy would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Caribbean trip help needed

Caribbean trip help to decide

Hello! I'm planning a 10 days trip to a Caribbean Island for this January/February and at the moment the options are Aruba, Curacao, StMarteen/Anguilla as top choices, but we also looked at Barbados and Puerto Rico as options.

We'll be there with my parents and unties (65-70 yo in good health) and cousins (all adults). We are looking for a mix of exploring options (like a nice town, markets, nature day trips) and white sand beaches where we can chill for a few days.

I've been to the dominican Republic (Stayed in Bayahibe) and visited Saona Island before. We also went to isla Mujeres in Mexico. We are looking for something with similar vibes and turquoise water beaches. Nothing fancy, super expensive, we are happy to rent an apartment, ideally close to restaurants.

Any tips? Thank you!

Landlord may be selling, wait or go look elsewhere

I'm wondering if anyone has ever been in a similar situation. My partner and I are ready to buy (we have a bit over the 10% deposit, full time permanent jobs) and we went to view some houses last year, however nothing worked out and decided to add some more money to the pot before trying again. We've been renting a 3 bed house for over 5 years, a fair cheap price considering the area.

Late last year, the landlord told us they were thinking of selling a few months before due to the new tenant's legislation that came in march this year but changed their mind eventually. We had a conversation about potentially buying the house from them (we looked for similar house around the area and we could afford it) and they said "we'll get first choice" in case that happens.

Now we are in limbo, and we are unsure if we should wait to see if they sell soon or go look for another house. Meanwhile, prices go up and we are in what feels like a worse situation every day that passes by. The landlords are quite old and told us the selling is contingent on them being able to look after the house or not, meaning their children think looking after it gives them something to do. The idea of potentially buying the house we live in is tempting, but waiting could be a very dumb choice, considering we can't know how that will work out. Any advice?

Short term volunteering

Hi! Does anyone know NGO/associations/websites (anything really!!l) where i could volunteer abroad as a public health professional? Ideally short term (2 to 4 months, I can't leave my job), anywhere in the world. Not the volountourism ones, which I've looked up already and is very hard to understand which are genuine.

I'm currently working as an epidemiologist assistant for the local health service, doing infection disease surveillance. I have an MPH (Europe) and 2.5 years experience in the field.

If anyone has any experience or advice, I'd really appreciate it! I would love to give whatever time I have to a good cause, but I find it very hard to find good NGO with programmes less than 6-8 months.

Hse job interview style

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone has ever done an HSE interview where the questions were more hypothetical scenarios given, instead of the usual competency based where they give a topic/skill and ask for a past example where that's demonstrated?

This is not my first rodeo, I've done a few hse interviews before, but I never had one where I'm given a made-up scenario and asked questions about what would I do. I understand it's a way of assessing skill too, but I was taken aback during the interview and didn't do well. Just wondering if anybody had a similar experience!

Anyone else thinking that buying a house in Ireland is an insane thing to do these days?

My partner and I looked at a few houses last year, the asking prices were absolutely crazy considering the state of the houses. We agreed to stay in our rental accommodation (we have a very low rent for the area we live in) and keep saving. We could get a mortgage for over 400k but I can't settle with the idea of repaying the bank for 25-30 years. We are fully aware house prices are going up, just wanted to understand what are other people's point of view about this.
