How to adjust these hinges?

My front door is rubbing on the floor. There are 3 of these hinges. Unfortunately the previous owner has painted the hinges but I've removed the paint on one and it doesn't seem like there's any cap on the top I can pop off? Also there's no way to adjust at the bottom.

Any help greatly appreciated!

I've recently bought a 20 year old house and the upstairs floorboards are creaky and squeaky. I've ripped out the carpets and was going to just screw them down like I've seen recommended on here numerous times.

Anyway, my wife wanted to call in a carpenter to do it instead. So we get a recommended carpenter and he comes and says he wouldn't screw them down but would put additional nails where there are boards lifting. He said screws could damage the joists. He was quite adamant that was the best approach.

Thoughts?

Just got the keys to a 20 year old house and these are the smoke alarms inside. Given it's a 10 year unit it means they never changed them. Take a couple of minutes to have a look at your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms to see if they need replacing. Could save your bacon.
