Monitor or Controller ? ( Details in body )

I have HP OMEN 16, Ryzen 7840HS, Rtx 4050 (140 TGP ), 1 tb SSD, and sadly 16Gb RAM.
I was thinking to buy sony controller for gaming, now I'm thinking If I add up 6k more then I could Get a Gaming monitor for 12-15k. What should I consider ? I currently Live in hostel.

Need some serious advice

I have HP OMEN 16, Ryzen 7840HS, Rtx 4050 (140 TGP ), 1 tb SSD, and sadly 16Gb RAM.
I'm about to Join engineering and been playing games since I bought it and always its the RAM which bottlenecks I delayed it as initially there was No need but then the RAM prices started increasing

Then I delayed because it expecting they would drop sometime soon and now I'm stuck.
THE MAIN QUESTION NOW IS

Should I buy Ram now ( I will need to buy 2 sticks of ddr5 5600 ram 16GB as my laptop has 8x2 dual channel ram 5600 )
I belong to avg middle class background.

THE SECEND QUESTION IS

If I get my RAM Upgraded then how long would keep up with the engineering needs and moderate gaming ?
Should I consider getting a PS5 controller for it?
