Quilting with cats

She's very sweet and cozy but boy she's making it hard to readjust.

Pattern is a single irish chain.

Anybody thread baste?

I'm planning on hand quilting my current project, so I am thread basting in anticipation of the hoop.

A few questions:

  1. Is there an easier way than on my floor? I didn't think I was ageing until I stood up and boy howdy.

  2. Is it taking so much longer than pin basting because I'm new to it? I worked on it for 3 hours last night and I'm only like 2/3 done.

  3. Spiral or rows?

  4. Straight or curved needle?

Another great sale find and seeking advice on finishing these!

I found these finished blocks, precut butterflies, and yardage of the background fabric at a sale today. I'd like to applique them in the same style as the originals, goofy eyes and all! A couple questions:

  1. Should i mark my blocks and stitch them on before cutting? Or maybe assemble the blocks and applique after?

  2. Do we think the OG blocks are usable? The edges are quite frayed. Any other suggestions on what i could do with them?

Got an absolute shitload of fabric at an estate sale this weekend and these vintage "bitsy bolts" are my favorite!

"Color coordinated with Millie August Wallpaper" lol. Most have been cut up but some are still whole
