Finally found my ride, helping other people find theirs.

I rode my first roller coaster shortly after I turned 5 (The Raging Wolf Bobs at Geauga Lake) and I was mildly traumatized by the experience. About every 10 years I try again. Always ends in tears.

Today I chaperoned a school trip and had 3 girls who had never been to an amusement park. Ever. Started them with Adventure Express with the idea that it’s mid thrill-wise. Success. Next was Sol Spin for upside down. Check.

“Mrs. OtterlyRuthless. Let’s do that next.”

The Banshee.

Y’all, I was not about to lose face in front of these teenagers. So we went, low-key panicking the whole time.

And it was awesome! I had *fun*. It made me heckin’ woozy, so it’s a once-a-trip ride, but I felt so proud.

I had another student later that was in the same boat, but settled for riding the AE and Bat with him. My stomach was not up to another go of the Banshee but found 2 other teachers for him to go with.

Seeing kids experiencing the park for the first time is weirdly heartwarming. And, I found a proper roller coaster to enjoy.
