Help! Traveling to Japan with layover in HKG via Cathay Pacific

Dear Reddit community,

I’m traveling to Japan (layover in HKG) in December but my passport has THREE souvenir stamps from when I was in Peru. I was naive and didn’t know you couldn’t stamp passports yourself. I went to Machu Picchu and the rainbow mountain and I felt like I had to get stamps as souvenir since Peru stopped doing entry/exit stamps. What makes it worse is that they are the only stamps I have in my passport so it’s very obvious.

I just want to know if a lot of people had flown Cathay Pacific with these unofficial stamps in their passports and if they were ever denied boarding by the airline. Any info is appreciated!

Sharing my Global Entry Timeline

I just wanted to share my global entry application process as it was pretty fast.

6/15 - submitted my initial application
6/16 - received conditional approval despite wrong info (I entered wrong DOB on my second citizenship so wasn’t expecting to be approved that fast). I then scheduled my interview at JFK for 6/21, they had many appt dates available.
6/21 - Interview day. I arrived 10 mins prior to my appointment, lady outside asked for my passport and told me to sit inside. I waited for around a minute and was called in. The interaction with the CBP officer lasted less than 2 minutes, 1 minute for fingerprint collection and 1 minute of talking. He only asked if I ever violated customs or immigration rules or was arrested before. I said no. I wanted to mention correcting my DOB mistake on my other citizenship document, but he said it won’t be needed anyway for entering the US so he deleted it from the system. He told me I will be approved and after I left, I checked and my portal did show I was approved! I didn’t have to show my driver license or proof of address as he only wanted my passport. The officer did seem like he was in a rush, like he was having lunch right after, but I’m not complaining lol.

My experience at JFK went very well. Anyone who is looking for an enrollment center I highly recommend JFK! Multiple appointment dates and the hours are like 8am - 7pm. Thank you and good luck!

WRONG INFO ON GLOBAL ENTRY

Hey Reddit community,

This is my first post here so bear with me if I do something wrong. I can’t believe I did this, but for my global entry application 2 days ago, I inputted the wrong date of birth for my second citizenship. Instead of my birth year, I put 2025 instead…

Can anyone please let me know if they have made a similar mistake and was still able to get approved for GE? I received my conditional approval yesterday (not sure why given the wrong info) and I scheduled my interview for this Sunday. I think people here say that I will be able to correct it with the interviewing officer, has anyone done so and still gotten approved?

Thank you!
