I’m picking up a 1981 production HK93 tomorrow and I’m looking into optics for it. Interested in possibly going the FRT route once those are available for the 93 so I don’t think I want high magnification or anything, as cool as the 4x24 Zeiss scopes are. I was thinking maybe a 1.5x ACOG or vintage red dot like an Aimpoint Electronic. If I go that route, what are some optic mounts you guys would recommend for this that would kind of match the 80’s time period/aesthetic? Open to suggestions for other optics as well.
Genuinely could not be happier with these rims. Thank you to those who said I should go with the styled steel. I still have some work to do on the interior, but the exterior looks fantastic. I’m one step closer to having this car exactly where I want it to be.
So we bought this house a couple years ago and it came with a big Frigidaire Gallery Fridge and Freezer. They were installed when the house was built so they’re both 7 years old now. They’ve both worked great until recently. The fridge will randomly stop cooling. We usually keep it around 36, and it’ll usually get down to temp, but then a day or two later we’ll open it and find it at 46-50 degrees. I’ve cleaned the condenser coils, still no luck. I checked the seal, it seals tight and good. We’ve had a technician come out and look at it, he thought it may have been the control board at the top of the fridge so I replaced that, still no luck. At this point, I’m out of ideas and this is a $3,000 fridge so I’d like to not replace it yet. Any other ideas? Maybe the evaporator?
EDIT: It is a Frigidaire Gallery, model # is fgru19f6qfd
(Ignore the SMLE, it’s just a placeholder for a Krag until I can find a good one and get 30-40 reloading components. Just wanted to hop on the Memorial day post train)
I’ve got a 1964.5 D Code Convertible with the 289 V8 4v and I’m in the process of restoring the interior. It also needs new tires so I ordered the Goodyear Power Cushion tires with the white wall but they ended up pushing that delivery back to early July, so I’m looking around at the possibility of getting different rims to throw on once the tires get in. It’s currently got 5 lug black rims with chrome wire hubcaps on it and the old Ford red white and blue emblem in the middle, like in the first picture. Really classy look, but I keep finding myself looking at the old school muscle car-looking rims, like in the second picture. My goal with this car is it make it look like it did when it rolled out of the factory back in 1964, and both rims seem to be correct for the time. With that being said, I wanted to toss it out to y’all and see what you guys thought. Should I stick with the wire hubcaps? Or switch the rims out for the styled muscle-ier steel wheels?
