Which galactic government was actually more stable: The Old Republic or the Imperial bureaucracy?
The Republic had checks and balances that collapsed under its own complexity. The Empire eliminated corruption through fear but created systemic fragility — one death at the top and the whole thing destabilizes. Looking at actual institutional design, which one actually worked better for stability, even if you hated the ideology?
