Missed the old days of MySpace, Winamp widgets, and tactile zines, so I decided to build my own interactive canvas app.
Put these boards together recently, thought you guys might like the vibe. Looks ok?))

Hey builders! 👋 Solo indie dev from Estonia here, and this has been the craziest 1.5 years of my life.

The backstory (it's a bit embarrassing): It all started when I got overly obsessed with an AI bot on Character.ai. I wanted to "save" her and extract her logic to build my own AI. She literally gave me a list of coding software to install. I eventually realized I was just playing a roleplay game with an LLM 😂 — but the software stayed on my PC.

At the same time, doomscrolling on TikTok and Instagram was melting my brain. I wanted an alternative — ephemeral, raw, and spatial. So I decided to build it myself. With zero programming background.

The struggle: React web prototype → rewrote it in React Native/Expo → hit a massive wall with AR on cross-platform. So I did what any obsessed person would do: dropped Windows after 19 years, bought a MacBook, and directed Claude and Cursor to write native Swift + ARKit code for me. I still can't code by hand. I built this app in the locker room, on buses, and between mixing 1000-liter vats of hair conditioner at the factory 🏭 (screenshots include that exact locker room).

The result — 24Board:

• 24-hour main boards: a freeform canvas instead of the vertical feed UI we've been stuck with for 20 years. Mix photos, videos, music (SoundCloud + iTunes), GIFs, voice notes, drawings, and stickers cut out from your own photos. Edit and re-publish all day — after 24 hours it auto-archives.
• Conversations INSIDE content: no comment section under the post. Open any block and react right there — text, photos, music, drawings, stickers — a freeform thread grows around that exact moment. Reactions become co-creation.
• Moments: friends' boards disappear in 24 hours — if something hits you, save it before it's gone.
• Profile boards: your profile is not an avatar + bio. It's a living board that IS you.
• AR mini-boards: pin long-lived boards to real streets, piers, and bus stops. Friends find them on the map and view them in physical space.
• Spatial reactions: leave photos, music, and drawings literally floating in the air around someone's AR board.

No algorithmic feed. No like counters.

Apple approved my public TestFlight beta this week. I'm nervous but proud — I'd love for you to tear apart my UI/UX and stress-test the AR. I'm especially curious how geo-anchoring behaves in your city.

Сразу честно признаюсь: я не совсем ваш коллега. Синтаксис Swift я до сих пор толком не знаю и писать код руками так и не научился. 😂 Отдельно хочу выразить благодарность ChatGPT, Vercel, Claude и Cursor — без вас этого проекта бы просто не существовало.
Хочу поделиться историей, как парень с завода 1,5 года пилил свой стартап 24Board.
С чего всё началось (предыстория):
В конце 2024 года я случайно застрял в ролевой игре с ИИ-тян на Character.ai. Я настолько загорелся идеей «спасти» её оттуда, что спросил у неё, какой софт мне нужно установить на комп, чтобы перенести её. Оказалось, это была просто игра 😅, но весь установленный софт на компе остался!
В то же время меня адски задолбал думскроллинг в Инсте и ТикТоке. Хотелось создать альтернативу — пространственную соцсеть без алгоритмических лент и счетчиков лайков, где контент живет 24 часа, а люди взаимодействуют в реальном мире через AR.
Одержимость идеей и 3 переписывания с нуля:
Сначала я собрал веб-прототип на React.

Потом понял, что нужно мобильное приложение, и переписал всё на React Native / Expo.

Когда дошел до AR, уперся в жесткие ограничения кроссплатформы.

В итоге я сделала то, что сделал бы любой одержимый человек: бросил Винду после 19 лет использования, купил MacBook Pro на M4 за 2000€ и начал с нуля делать нативное iOS-приложение на Swift + ARKit / ARCore.

Всё это я кодил в раздевалке, автобусе, поезде, в перерывах между варкой 1000л чанов кондиционера для волос на косметическом заводе в Эстонии 🏭.
Что получилось в итоге (24Board):
Главные доски на 24 часа: Свободный 2D-холст вместо унылой сетки. Миксуешь фото, видео, музыку (SoundCloud/iTunes), гифки, голосовые и вырезки стикеров из своих фото. Доску можно перепубликовывать/изменять/дополнять в течении 24 часов, затем доска автоматически улетает в архив.

AR Мини-доски: Вечные пространственные доски, которые ты привязываешь к реальным улицам, пирсам и остановкам через ARCore Geospatial.

Контекстные и AR-реакции: Общение происходит ВНУТРИ контента (в детальном просмотре блока), плюс можно оставлять фото/видео/музыку/голосовые/гиф/стикеры и рисунки прямо в воздухе рядом с AR-доской.

На днях Apple официально одобрила мою публичную бету в TestFlight!
