How to reapply sharpening compound for knives.

Take the scraper from your kit.

Gently scrape the surface of the strop to remove the old, worn-out compound. You only need a light pass, don’t scrape aggressively.

Take your Outlux Emmit honing compound. Hold it like a crayon and gently rub it across the strop.

Apply a thin, even layer. You don't need to cover the strop with a thick layer. Honing compound contains very fine abrasive particles, and adding more doesn't make the strop sharpen faster. A thick layer is simply wasteful and can make stropping messy.

Once applied, you're ready to strop. Use light pressure and let the compound do the work.

When the strop stops polishing effectively, or the surface becomes heavily loaded with black residue, lightly scrape it and apply another thin layer.

That's it. Repeat when needed and enjoy a sharper edge!

Leather-Free Premium Canvas Stropping Kit

So, it's finally here!

First of all, thank you to everyone who supported us and shared your ideas throughout this project. It took a few months, but the stropping kit is finally ready.

From the beginning, we wanted to create a premium leather-free alternative for people who can't or simply prefer not to use leather, whether for cultural, religious, personal, or ethical reasons.

Every strop is handmade, and we've tried to pay attention to every little detail.

Some highlights:

• Acrylic base instead of wood. It provides a truly flat surface and won't swell, crack, or warp with humidity, which is especially important in India.

• Premium canvas that's built for years of regular use.

• Every strop comes pre-loaded, so it's ready to use right out of the box.

• The kit also includes a few practical accessories and a couple of small extras.

• We also tried to minimize unnecessary waste. Most of the packaging is made from cardboard and paper, and wherever we used plastic, we chose durable, reusable components instead of disposable ones.

This project took a lot of experimentation, time, sweat, and yes... even a little blood (literally 😅).

We're just a small team of EDC enthusiasts trying to build genuinely high-quality handmade gear in India, and we hope you'll enjoy using it.

Finally, we just want to say thank you. The support, encouragement, and feedback we received from this community, especially on our green honing compound, gave us the confidence to keep building and eventually bring this kit to life. We genuinely couldn't have done it without you.

As always, we'd love to hear your thoughts. Your feedback and suggestions mean a lot to us and will help shape future versions.

New test subject for our stropping Compound

  1. Axis 75 knife

  2. Outlux Emmit stropping/honing compound

If our honing compound can impress on India's most popular folding knife, it can earn a place on almost any workbench.

The Decathlon Axis 75 is finally here, and it's time to see what a proper stropping session can do. Same knife. Same steel. Just a sharper edge.

Let's find out what it's really capable of. 🔪✨

We made something for knife lovers.

It has been awesome watching the knife and EDC community grow in India, and we wanted to contribute something meaningful.

A knife is only as good as the care it receives. Maintenance is an essential part of knife ownership, and a truly sharp edge comes from two steps: sharpening and stropping.

While good sharpening stones are still difficult to find in India (something we're working on), we realized there was an even bigger gap. There are virtually no dedicated stropping compounds designed specifically for knives and hand stropping available locally. And Stropping is what refines an edge to the point it can whittle a single strand of hair.

So we decided to tackle that bottleneck first.

After months of testing, experimenting, and refining different formulations, we're excited to introduce the OUTLUX EMMIT Standard Honing Compound.

• Designed specifically for hand stropping

• Suitable for knives, axes, chisels, gouges, and other edge tools

• Helps refine an edge to hair-shaving sharpness

• Truly Made in India 🇮🇳

This is Batch 16. After countless iterations, we finally feel it's ready for the community. Watch the video. We're not just shaving hairs. We're shaving the hair itself. That's  after less than a minute of stropping.

It's now available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0H6BQ6PV5

If you decide to give it a try, we'd genuinely appreciate your feedback. Every suggestion, criticism, and experience will help us improve future batches and guide the sharpening products we develop next.

Thank you for being part of the journey . We look forward to hearing your thoughts.
