Applied in February, got a conditional offer in March, still "waitlisted" in August with classes about to start — anyone else dealing with this?

Rant incoming, sorry in advance.

I applied to UDST back in early February. Got a conditional offer in March, which felt like a great sign. Then... nothing. My status has been stuck on "Waitlisted Early Cond Marks&Val" for months.

Every time I check in, I get told to wait a little longer. First it was "wait till early June." Then June came and went, so it became "July." Then "mid-July." Then "August." Then "first weeks of August." Now it's almost the end of August, other universities' classes are literally starting this week, and I still have zero final answer.

At this point I genuinely don't know if this is a "we're still processing, hang tight" situation or a "we're going to reject you but keep stringing you along" situation. And that's the part that gets me — if the answer is no, just tell me. I'd rather have a clear rejection in June than false hope dragged out to the point where I've missed the window to apply anywhere else for this year.

I get that admissions offices are busy and there's a lot of applications to process, but months of "just a little longer" with no transparency is a genuinely awful way to treat 18-year-olds trying to plan their entire year. Some of us don't have a backup plan sitting around because we were told to wait.

Anyone else in the same boat? Did it eventually resolve, and if so, how long did it take for you?

Looking for reputable flight schools in South Africa

Hi everyone, I’m looking for recommendations for good, reputable, safe, and relatively fast flight schools in South Africa for obtaining my pilot licences.

I’m particularly interested in schools with:

- Good safety records and reputation
- Modern, well-maintained aircraft
- Experienced instructors
- Efficient training schedules / minimal delays
- Reasonable overall costs
- Good support for international students
- A clear pathway from PPL → CPL → IR/ME if possible

I’d really appreciate recommendations from anyone who has trained at a flight school in South Africa or knows the industry well.

Also, if there are any schools I should **avoid**, please let me know and why.

Thanks!

Anyone got acceptance in the college of IT?

Has anyone received a response from UDST recently for the AI & Data Science or Cybersecurity programs?
I’ve visited the admissions office multiple times, and every time they just tell me to wait. The last time I went, they specifically said I’d get a reply this week, but it’s already been a week and I still haven’t received anything.
Just wondering if anyone else is in the same situation or if anyone has gotten an offer recently.
