Nü Flexx (demo)

Here’s a demo I made last night that I can’t stop listening to lol. I was thinking about calling ironically calling it Nü Flexx to fit that alt-swag type of sound. Vocal delivery is inspired by cloud rap, and that song Swang, and that new song by Illiya from Dream academy lol, also bbyafricka (delivery on xxxx adlib) maybe some Drake, and Kanye too. Also shout out to my OG production inspo Ana kennedy.

Interested on direction and feedback for mixing the vocals and adlibs. I started singing a chorus with full autotune and it came out sounding like Cece Natalie, but I’m going for more like a depeche mode chant/verse kinda sound with high reverb and less autotune.

Midwest Pop Punk Beat

Made this on a flight watching Dune part 2. Guitar sample is from @wolfgang.wav on IG.

Drums are Brooklyn drum kit (Bandlab preset) with the Garage Band FX effect.

Guitar is somehwhat chopped up and has the EQ3-M plugin followed by the multi amp pro plugin with the Mississippi 5150 model

Lead vocal melody in the works. Lyrics concepts and song structure input appreciated plus any other thoughts :)

i was watching Penelope for like a hundredth time and realised that the only movie that i know with a similar vibe is Amelie. is there anything that has the same aesthetic and feel to it? idk how to describe it, i guess magical and whimsical, but in a dreamy sort of way

So this is something my dad told me years ago, and it’s always stuck with me.

Apparently there was this local rumor back in the day about stuff going on around Jacoby Road (Xenia/Springfield, OH) - like Satan worship and people doing rituals in the woods. My dad said he thinks he even saw something about it in a local newspaper at the time.

One night, him and a couple of his buddies decided to go check it out.

They were driving out there late and ended up pulling off into a wooded neighborhood (Jacoby Rd.) Off in the distance, they could see a fire burning with people gathered around it.

At some point, their truck got stuck in a ditch. They tried knocking on nearby houses for help, but nobody answered. (He said there was a home at 666 and every home after it on the street was for sale.) So they went back and kept trying to rock the truck out, but it was getting darker and darker.

Eventually it was pitch black. While they were still trying to get unstuck, a flashlight suddenly turned on deep in the woods and pointed right at them… then shut off.

A few moments later, another flashlight shined on them from the other side of the woods.

My dad said that’s when they started panicking. Him and his friends were going all out trying to free the truck. Somehow they finally got it out and sped off as fast as they could.

He also told me another time they went out to a place around Wilberforce and saw people around a fire again - but this time they got noticed and the group actually started chasing them. They had to run back to the car and speed away.

When I was a kid, he actually drove my mom, my brother, and me out to Jacoby Rd just to show us it was a real place.

Curious to know if anyone else has any experiences or legends to share. Also does anyone else know about the story of Jacoby Road?

TLDR: My dad checked out rumored occult activity on Jacoby Road back in the day, had a couple of strange run-ins, and now I’m wondering if anyone knows about real groups or incidents tied to that area.
