What's ya'll ideas for new Sons of Behemat stuff in the far future of 5th edition?????

What's ya'll ideas for new Sons of Behemat stuff in the far future of 5th edition?????

I have multiple ideas.

How about a Gargent boss for the Boss-stompers/Rock-hurlers? It would give us cheaper heroes to have. Plus, players could play just a list of regular Gargents, lol.

Now... for two new Ghyrochs (the animals in the picture). So this is an amazing shift for SoB. But it is an interesting one. So... as a bold idea, how about Boss-stompers/Rock-hurlers riding mounts? I mean, every army gotta have SOME form of cavalry, right? So it would be interesting to see where this new stuff goes in the far future.

For my final idea, but before I start. This idea probably won't happen, considering how big the model would have to be. But.... I wanna see a Mega-Mega Gargent. I wanna see a Gargent bigger than our Mega-Gargents. I don't care if it would have to be another named character, but no matter what if we actually get a Mega-Mega Gargent. Because don't Gargents get bigger and bigger each day? So it'll bound to happen at some point. 💔🙏

God damm.

I know that Ogor Mawtribes hit hard, but she hits like a god-damm speeding semi-truck 💔😭😭 Especially with her passive ability on top.

We meet again so late this time... but it's never too late to rank, my Ogors brothers and sisters.

Yes, I know I'm a little late to this news. I meant to rank the new Hunters unit way earlier today (or yesterday if we're being technical here), but I sadly forgot to 💔 But I am now here to glaze the crap out of my dear lovable Ogors ❤️ But, before I do, I must say again that this is solely a personal opinion and I may be joking here and there, so don't take it personally and shoot me down in a parking lot lol.

Anyway, I think it's quite obvious what the Hunters are about. They, well, hunt, lol. But they are a recon unit, both in lore and on the table. We already know one of the abilities, so I wonder if they have a second ability to that is similar to recon? Maybe they can ignore enemy cover when they shoot, or considering they are recon, they are less visible to enemy units because of stealth in some way? Which is a stretch, I know, but it's not the worst idea, and it's not a bad idea to hope. Normally, we don't get that much help movement wise in Ogor Mawtribes, so it's nice to have.

Because it's Ogors, I'd imagine the crossbows do a lot of damage, but they probably do better to elite infantry overall? I highly doubt they are good enough to do damage to Monsters/War Machines in either shooting or melee. On the topic of melee, I'd imagine they aren't the best at it. But, obviously, they are still Ogors, so I'd also imagine it's not too little damage. But I would probably guess that the new Sabrerfangs help out in melee, like having a lot of attacks but little damage.

But, now, to cover the models themselves. I think they look great. It gives a nod to the Beastclaw Raiders, and at this point, I'd imagine Games Workshop view is wanting to do a mixture of both Gutbusters and Beastclaw Raiders together in some way with the newer Ogor Mawtribes models so people aren't so... angry with one of them getting kicked out. Otherwise, I really like the gut plates on these models, and if it's possible, I am gonna take the bone parts off the guy gut plate in the middle and put it on a Tyrant instead for the looks. I like the layers of clothing and the large-ass crossbows. As much as I would love to see cannons instead (damm you Game Workshop for taking away my leadbelchers 💔), I know that they are recon, so they need to be stealthy, which is the charm of these models lol.

However, I know that the Hunters are going to be incredibly fun to paint, and I plan on just getting a box and painting the new Sabrerfangs white instead of orange, to respect the Beastclaw Raiders, and because I feel like it fits a lot better overall. And I might add some lingering snow on the clothes in order to show that as well.

Overall, the new Hunters are, easily, a 10/10, and I'll probably get a box. Now that I'm thinking about it, the new Sabrerfangs are bothering me because they are orange instead of white, so they can fit with the Beastclaw Raiders a lot more lol.

We must rank. Yes, WE 🫵 As in you and I.

Alright, I'm personally about to rank each individual thing that the Ogor Mawtribes got. I plan on finally getting into them because I kept telling myself, "Let's wait and see," lol. At least it paid off in the end.

So, this ranking is solely my opinion and a little bit of help from my friends. I'm mostly ranking on the rule of cool, how easy it might get into as a new player, and how easy it might be to paint for beginners getting into it. I mean, it wouldn't be surprising if Ogor Mawtribes got more attention from both the new and experienced Aos players, considering how big of refresh/revamp we got. Plus, they look WAY better now. However, I talked about Redd way before in another post, so go check that out. So, obviously, I won't be talking about him here.

Yes, I know it's a little early to rank them, considering that we haven't seen the rest of the kits customization within them. Or the other new stuff coming as well. But am I still ranking them? Yes. Do I care that it's a little early? No.

Now, I will do this later again in the future when we get the other new stuff as well. I'm just currently ranking the current stuff we got. Btw, I'm not a big painter myself, so I wouldn't mind a bit of help from more experienced Ogor Mawtribes painters/players.

So, in the end, please don't shoot me down in a random parking lot for voicing my opinions 🤝🫵🙏 Also, sorry if it's a lot, I'm a heavy thinker, so I don't blame anyone for not reading everything 😅

  1. The new Ogor Mawtribes army set:

Now, this is a pretty good new army set for the Ogor Mawtribes. It basically has half the refresh in it, lol. If I were to guess, it'll probably be around 850-900 points, considering how elite Ogor Mawtribes are overall (If Games Workshop changes the elite aspect, I'll complain until they fix it, I got ya'll back 🤝🫵). So, for any new players wanting to get into Ogor Mawtribes, this is a great box to pick up if you wanna get started on Ogor Mawtribes and have a full-edge army ready for you if you wanna play.

If any new player is wondering how elite the Ogor Mawtribes are, you can essentially pick two of this box (I don't necessarily recommend it, but it's your choice) and probably have close to a 2,000 point army already.

The box contains:

  1. One Tyrant
  2. Two squads of Gluttons.
  3. One squad of Ironguts
  4. One squad of Maulbeast Cavalry/Raiders
  5. The battletomb. The red and black variant.
  6. The Warscrolls

10 out of 10, easy for both new and experienced players to get into Ogor Mawtribes if you wished to get it. It's both simplistic and basic. Although, my only complaint is that I wished that there was a Butcher that they added in, you know? So, newer players can experience and use the magic side. But that's about it.

Now, it's time for the fun part.

  1. The Tyrant:

Now, I do like the new Tyrant model. It's very good overall. I don't honestly think I have any complaints.

I always wanted texture on the skin for the Ogors, and you can actually see it on the Tyrant and the others as well. From what I'm looking at, this Tyrant looks younger, which is a cool thing to see and notice. However, it did say there was a lot of customization with the new Tyrant model, so you could probably make old or middle-aged, and I've always liked the old Tyrant hammer and Skewer, so you can probably have those options as well. I hope we can also get a helmet as an option.

As to a nod to the Beastclaw Raiders, you can build the Tyrant that way as well. Which is very cool. Now, I, in particular, haven't been interested in the Beastclaw Raiders, but it's a nice thing that you alternatively build a Beastclaw Raider Tyrant.

Leaders, or just characters overall, are most of the time simplistic to paint. The new Ogor Mawtribes have been both refined but simplified, which is, again, good. As long as you learn how to paint on skin, you'll mostly be fine. The Ogor Mawtribes models are large, and the larger the model, the easier it is to paint. The new Tyrant model will probably have a lot of customization, so it'll lead to a lot of fun painting and each Tyrant being different from each other if you got multiple.

This bad boy is easily a 10 out of 10 in my heart.

My boys 🙏

  1. The New Gluttons:

In my personal opinion, I always found it weird that the old Gluttons were a six-man squad. But I'm glad they changed it, too. However, despite the change, I imagine they still pack a heavy punch on the field. After all, they are your standard infantry that will both eat and crush anyone and anything in their path.

Like the New Tyrant, the New Gluttons seem to have a lot of customization. Such as weapons, heads, armor, etc. This is a good thing, and it makes each individual Glutton different with flair. For me, I never really lived painting faces, so I'm glad they are options for helmets. I mean, an Ogor gotta protect their head, lol. But I've noticed that with the new stomach Iron plates (I forgot what they are called, my bad. Or unless I'm right, I'm personally the greatest lol) is that they have two bending plates at the bottom that end at the thighs. That is really cool. It shows the level of detail that Games Workshop put into these new models. However, I've also noticed a more Mongolian theme going on now, which it perfect. If you look at their faces, they have Mongolian hair, armor, weapons, and mustaches.

Now, Gluttons are the standard infantry, so as most standard infantry, they must be simplistic and easy as they can be, so newer players wanting to get into the hobby have an easier time. The Gluttons are mostly skin, metallic, and leather, so it'll be easy for anyone to paint them well enough for them to get onto the table. Hell, if you really want, you could probably slapchop them. Although, I might be a bit picky, but the paints choice of color look a little weird, but it's still looks good.

Again (I MIGHT be glazing them) they are a 10 out of 10. The customization, the easy painting, and the fun aspect is the one thing that the Ogor Mawtribes seem to shine in currently.

My more favorite boys ❤️

The Ironguts:

Again, I always found it weird that they were in squads of four originally, but I'm glad it's squads of three now. But considering their more Mongolian look and heavier armor, I'd imagine they now hit like a speeding semi-truck on the crack on the table. I'd also imagine that they probably still have the ability to guard the Tyrant.

Otherwise, I think they look cool. They push into the more Mongolian vibe because of the heavier armor, large mongolian weapons, and especially the faces. However, we didn't get a lot of info on the customization and options for the Ironguts, but I'd imagine there's still a bit to choice from. As long as they have helmets as an option for each Irongut, I don't mind at all, lol 👍 Now, what I especially like is the different iron gut plate they have compared to the rest of the refresh. I mean, it's awesome to see a multi-layered gut plate, I never really thought of that idea. You can also tell that that they mean business because of their more elite look. Not that they didn't mean business beforehand. It's just the new vibe that they have now.

Again, the New Ironguts seem easy to paint. It's mostly skin, black, and metallic colors. Plus, they are a three man squad, so you'll burn out less often when painting them. They have long-ass weapons that will give you the satisfaction of dragging your brush across the blade.

What a surprise, another ten out of ten, my brothers and sisters 🫵🤝 The only thing I wish to see is the more insight on options we have for building the Ironguts, but we can only hope 💔

Now... some might hate me, or maybe like me.

The Maulbeast Cavalry/Raiders:

Now, for starters, I am not particularly interested in Cavalry overall. It doesn't appeal to me much at all, so I might be a little picky on the Maulbeasts. Now, I'm not saying I'm hating on Cavalry. They can look cool to me. But the Maulbeasts models are... interesting, in my opinion.

To all of us, we mostly see Cavalry in five man squads, maybe even three man squads if it is a more elite version of the five man squad. But, Ogor Mawtribes have always been an exception, and this shows that Ogor Mawtribes are the most elite army in Aos (Yes, I know it's technically, SoB, but that's different lol). Instead of the regular norm for most Cavalry, Ogor Mawtribes prefer the taste of a two man Cavalry squad.

Most of us have seen the Warscrolls of the Maulbeasts, and they definitely hit hard and are hard to kill. But, models with those stats must show the physical prowess, and Ogor Mawtribes models do. But the Maulbeasts seem a bit... skinny. As in, Skinny for the Ogor Mawtribes. They look good. Don't get me wrong. But they lack the fat/muscle that defines the Ogor Mawtribes. But, I do understand that they are probably a faster piece on the table, so they need to be less bulky to seem more agile.

Now, for the good parts, the Maulbeasts show how vicious most Ogor Mawtribes creatures can be, and, yes, they look a little goofy. But I believe that's the charm to them. The Ogor themselves are holding long glaves, so I wonder if they have spears as an option? That would be kinda cool, ngl. Now, for the Maulbeast Raiders, I like the little bit of the Beastclaw Raiders look, a nod to that as well. And I like the scout aesthetic. But I wish there was, like, bags on the Maulbeasts sides, tou know? I don't mind the armor for the Maulbeast Cavalry sides, but I wanna see the Maulbeasts Raiders have more stuff on them.

I have never painted reptilian-skin before, but I'd imagine they are also simplistic and easy to paint because of their larger size. So, that ends it.

So, it'll have to be a 9.9 out of 10 this time 💔 I just wanna see spears to fit the more Mongolian vibe.

But, it's now my favorite model, the Butcher.

The Butcher:

I've always liked the Butchers vibes, and the doctor/cook look always appealed to me. I'd imagine, like they always been, a good support piece. And a hard hitter in his own right as well. I'd probably recommend picking one up when the new Butcher comes out.

I like the obese look that the New Butcher has and the subtle muscle definition that he has underneath that fat as well. The blood and the pot look good as well, and it's sculpted well enough to where you can see the size difference between the Butcher and the dead body he's holding. Although, the only insight we see is the mask piece that the Butcher has an option for customization. I wonder if we can replace the cleaver with a hook-like arm? Or just a regular hook? Maybe more head options?

Otherwise, I'd imagine this relatively easy to paint. The Butcher is more pale than the other Ogor Mawtribes, and the Butcher wears more white clothes, so it'll literally just white beside the pot, weapons, and the blood, lol.

But, now, this is an 11 out of 10 model, and this shows what a Butcher is meant to be; A Butcher.

These are cool, ngl.

The brand new Cleavers:

From what we learned, the Cleavers are basically Butchers in training and are anti-wizards and priest units. So, and, based on how it's worded, they might have abilities that require killing a wizard or a priest. Otherwise, they probably still hit very hard.

Like the regular Butcher, the Cleavers have the obese look with the subtle muscle definition and the greasy look as well. Plus, it is nice to see a female Ogor in the kit. I wonder, like with the Butcher, they will have different headpieces, weapons, and maybe clothing? I'd imagine the Cleavers are also relatively simple and easy to paint. Otherwise, as you can see, I have nothing bad to say. They are just smaller butchers, lol.

The Cleavers get a good 10 out of 10. They are cool as the Butcher himself ❤️

I want to see more of this stuff

The Gutseers:

Now, they are probably going to be a support piece for your support pieces, such as the Butcher and Redd himself. They probably still hit hard but grant buffs for your wizards. I think it'll be worth picking up a box or so.

The new Gutseers models are really cool and are a lot more dark and creepy looking. Gw said that they are religious fanatics of the Gulping God. I like the ropes, the hoods, the different looking iron guts plates of what seems to be probably shaped as intestines, or maybe even brains? I don't care, I just want more of this aesthetic. I want to see more of the religious side of the Ogor Mawtribes. Of course, I wanna see different weapons and heads. Obviously, they are probably easy to paint, being only pale ass skin, metallic, leather, and a dirty color overall. So, go crazy when you pick one up 👍

If we had more lore on them, I would add more. But 10 out of 10 again. I wanna see more of this stuff.

I wonder what could POSSIBLY be a new model...

The Battletomb:

The artwork is exceptionally amazing. I can't say much on it except for the new battle rules. At least these new battle rules are a lot better than just "get buff when attack. Heal here and there" The second one is the Butcher job, and, yes, I know that one the battle rules are basically the same thing as the first one, but it's a lot more polished and has a lot more content. The second new battle rule is actually quite good. It helps the whole mobility issue that Ogor Mawtribes have.

Now... shall we address the rhino in the room? I think it'll look cool no matter what. I'd imagine it'll be a Tyrant on giant rhino, but as the second option, a 'Named character' on giant rhino. Because there was a rumor that we were meant to get another named character, right? So I'd imagine that's a possibility. Otherwise, I'm excited, and I bet it's easy to paint as well.

It is a 100 out of 10 fellas 👍🫵 This will be a good time for all Ogor Mawtribes players and painters.

How would I do this?

After the summer reveals, we obviously got brand new Ogors. When I first got into Aos (Age of Sigmar) about 4-ish months ago, I really, and I mean, REALLY loved the Ogor Mawtribes. This was mostly because of Total War: Warhammer 3. But, considering that most of their models beforehand were older than me (which is crazy to think about btw), I decided to wait, which was definitely worth it. Plus, towering fat-ass muscular men with large clubs appealed to me lol.

So, my question is about the painting part. How do you do the bloody effect you see on the Butcher right hand (his right)? Or on his cloth underneath the iron gut plate? I wanna actually make blood stains.

Redd looks... odd.

Is it just me, or does Redd look odd? Don't get me wrong, Redd is a beautiful model overall 12/10 👍 But Redd base seems so empty, and the two Ogor on both sides look like they shouldn't be there? Is this just me? I'm not trying to complain here.
