Update: The researcher has confirmed that they also believe this was a technical issue and are currently waiting for Prolific’s response.
I really appreciate that they’re acknowledging it wasn’t simply participant error. I’m hoping that, once Prolific responds, the rejection can be overturned because it appears to be an unfair rejection caused by a technical problem rather than anything I did. Fingers crossed this gets resolved soon. https://www.reddit.com/r/ProlificAc/s/1q0tg9PgDV
Chatbot Issue Resolved – Thank You, r/ProlificAc Moderator u/Spiritual-Rain-3733!
reddit.comChatbot 🐞 Bug - Anyone else?
Today, the chatbot has been malfunctioning, and I would like to explain why I mistakenly submitted an account hold appeal.
When the chatbot stopped working and my old messages and support tickets were no longer visible, I thought there might be an issue with my account. Because of this confusion, I submitted an appeal, believing that my account might have been placed on hold.
Later, I received a message saying that my account had been reinstated. However, I also confirmed with your team that there had never been any issue with my account in the first place. The problem was actually caused by the chatbot malfunctioning, not by my account.
Since this morning, many users have been experiencing the same issue, where old tickets and previous messages are not visible in the chatbot.
Interestingly, the chatbot works correctly only in Mozilla Firefox, where I had already been logged in before this issue started. However, on my phone in every web browser, and on my laptop in every browser after clearing cookies and cache, the chatbot immediately starts malfunctioning again, and my previous tickets and messages do not appear.
Since the day I created my account, I have never received any account hold banner or warning, and I have never engaged in any activity that would negatively affect my account. That is why I was surprised and assumed there might be an account issue when the chatbot stopped working.
I kindly request that this chatbot issue be investigated and fixed as soon as possible. I have been quite frustrated since this morning because of this problem, and the confusion led me to submit an unnecessary account hold appeal. Although the appeal has now been resolved, the chatbot is still in the same broken state as it was this morning.
I’m not getting many studies, but there are no signs that my account is on hold. I checked through the browser console, and everything looks normal.
My account seems healthy—the only strange thing is that all of my old chatbot messages have disappeared.
I have no rejections. I received a few studies yesterday, but none today, along with the chatbot issue. I only get options like - can’t login, and other things and when i asked it said , no login found 😫
I also recently completed the new “About You” questions that Prolific asked me to fill out. I’ve noticed a few other people mentioning the same chatbot problem, so I’m wondering if it’s a temporary bug rather than something account-specific.
Is anyone else seeing this? Are your old chatbot messages gone as well, or is it just me? 🤔

reddit.comHow many of you completed this study ?
At the end, I was asked to draw a clock showing 10 past 10 (10:10). I was running out of time, so I created it roughly 😥 by adding only the hour and minute hands, along with the numbers necessary to display the required time, 10:10.
How Many of You Completed This Study? It Took Me 6–7 Hours Instead of 43 Minutes 😥
I’m honestly struggling to understand what happened with this study. The description stated that the task would take approximately 43 minutes, with a maximum estimated time of 60 minutes. However, after starting, I discovered that there were 221 evaluation tasks to complete, many of which involved lengthy conversations between an AI and a human that required careful review.
As the study timer was about to expire, I submitted the study using NOCODE to avoid timing out. I then continued working on the task and completed all evaluations before submitting the completion code afterward.
In reality, the task took me around 6–7 hours to finish, which is far beyond the estimated duration provided in the study description. I now feel completely exhausted and overwhelmed after spending so many hours on it. To be honest, the experience has left me feeling extremely frustrated, and I felt it was important to let you know what happened.
I have already messaged the researcher about the situation and hope they will review the matter.
Adding Insult to Injury: After Solving the 4K Requirement, HDR Became the Next Roadblock🙄😥🤔🏹Has anyone else completed this study?
The study required a screen resolution of 3840 × 2160. My laptop’s built-in display did not meet that requirement, so I connected my 4K TV via HDMI and configured it as my primary display. After some troubleshooting, I was able to get the system to recognize and use the required 3840 × 2160 resolution, and the study accepted the resolution requirement.
However, immediately after that, the study prompted me with a new requirement stating that HDR support was needed. My TV supports HDR10, but Windows was not detecting HDR correctly. I spent additional time trying to enable HDR and troubleshoot the issue, but unfortunately I ran out of time and the study timed out before I could complete the setup and proceed further.
Sometimes, the appreciation from researchers and the continuity of a platform...
Sometimes, the appreciation from researchers and the continuity of a platform itself make you want to stay loyal to it.
For the entire week, I have barely received any studies, yet I continued checking the platform every day in the hope that something would eventually appear. I was even putting less attention on other platforms because I didn't want to disrupt my stability and consistency on Prolific. Unfortunately, Prolific itself has started behaving like a disabled system, and I don't think I should keep staring at a blank screen when I could be focusing my time elsewhere.
That said, I had started to feel a genuine connection with Prolific, mainly because of the researchers. In my experience, they have been incredibly kind, supportive, and helpful. Ironically, even the researchers themselves don't know why I am no longer receiving their studies, nor do they understand how Prolific's study distribution algorithm actually works.
Today, I decided to step away from the platform and focus on other opportunities rather than staring at Prolific's empty cup for hours, waiting and hoping for studies that never arrived. As a result, I earned almost $150 from other platforms today that still seem stable and active.
I genuinely hope Prolific can get back on its feet and return to what it once was, so that genuine participants also have a fair opportunity to take part in studies and contribute meaningfully.
Dear facebook and Instagram users , You’re being secretly monitored through your camera, with your activities recorded without your consent. Close these settings in iPhone .
Meta record your live activities 😱
Meta (Facebook, Instagram, and their other applications) seems to be recording a huge amount of user behavior online. Earlier, this level of data collection wasn't possible, but now it feels like they can gather much more information directly from users. I've even noticed my phone heating up at times, which makes me wonder what is running in the background.
Since AI development requires massive amounts of data, I think companies like Meta may be relying more on data collected through their platforms rather than through traditional methods such as surveys and research projects. That could also be one reason why some smaller initiatives, such as Viewpoints and similar projects, appear to have been reduced or discontinued.
Privacy has become a major concern. Nowadays, if you deny camera or certain permissions, some apps like Facebook, Instagram, and others may not function properly or may restrict certain features. It often feels like users have to trade more privacy for access to these services.
Off topic ! But seriously important one

Has anyone received a Hindi V2 Transcript Review study today?
reddit.comHow many of you have just received this study with 6 available places? Is the error the same for you as well?
Feather openAi Studies = I started receiving the error message “No status transitions allowed for current user for this task” repeatedly after submitting around 30 submissions. Do you know what this error means and why it might be happening?
Any idea about this researcher- illinous.edu
I just completed a short survey worth around $0.81. After seeing lots of people crying over rejections from low-paying studies and researchers, I was quite surprised to find this study sitting in my review section.
