Recommendations cone v. onesie

My slinky dog is getting fixed this week. She's crate trained as she's a chewer when left unattended for more than an hour. She's pretty active. She'll be 2 in November and has an older pup sister who's just as active (4-6years old - was already fixed when adopted)

I have a plastic cone from when my mom's dog had the chop, I also ordered 3 different style of onesies. Inflating cones make me nervous she'd eat it, honestly dont see her being able to leave her insicion alone, and I'm nervous she'll take the cone off with all her saggy skin 😅😂 she really does make me think of a slinky. The vet said it was really up to us they didnt give much input as to which was best. Ive seen other reddit posts but it seems like a lot are commenting about other breeds. Im asking about a basset. Like momma is pure bred, no idea what daddy is but definitely hound mix.

In ground home

I have a chunk of property roughly .5 acre with 3 standing structures. I wanna remove the main (trailer) and build a home into the hillside the property is on. There's a decent chunk of flat and wanna dig in and down to if possible make a cold ceiler or basement for tornados. But im completely clueless. Ive done a lot of DIY on my own but I wanna first make sure its possible. The property think like a step. Down angle, flat (but enough for a double wide) and the down at an angle again then flat. I want half out so I can use some of the flat for a coop and driveway and the other half in the hillside and down (if possible). This way I can use the roof for a garden and bee hive. Think hobbit hole but the front half is above ground.

Plan to use logs both on property and from a local mill.. but im clueless. Straight up. Any good places to watch videos? Im so overwhelmed and excited I cant slow down. Ive found floor plans and stuff I like but cant really put them into action without finding out if its possible.

The hill the property is located is on top of a mountain and the road is iffy, a fire truck CAN make it up.. but said hill has totalled multiple wreckers.

My indoor only male cat got out 2 weeks ago. We aren't 100% sure where all he traveled but we do know either the day of or shortly after he was chased by a local dog to cross a major highway. He was smart and found himself a little hole somewhere at a local camp. He was only behind our house across the road. Its been nasty weather with rain and storms so we werent sure if we'd find him. However, coordinating between camp owner and myself I was able to cage trap him using a toy from home, his favorite treats with food and dirty lit-ter from home.

Picked him up this morning with my son (his favorite person next to myself) he calmed down once he realized it was us, freaked out a second when we brought him in. The other animals smelled him and it was a little overwhelming but got him out and he warmed up quickly.

We found a few ticks, removed them, bagged them, and bathed him. Ticks are in the freezer. Kitty is dry and comfortably sleeping in his usual spot in my clean clothes. Its Saturday, our vet doesn't open until Tuesday. I'll be looking for a weekend vet but what all should I he looking for?

He definitely lost weight. I can feel most of his bones so I suspect he wasn't eating or if he wasn't it wasn't much. He's more vocal and demanding of love, which I expected. I have the lights off and door open but no one back there to let him relax and come out on his own time. I have some of his favorite wet food and treats in the bowl for him. He did eat both in the trap and once home. I mix a little water in for hydration.

Bad weather and weight loss i dont know what all we endured. Ive never had a cat get out within my memory (one when I was very little) so I dont know what do expect. Not asking medical stuff just kinda what to look for while I find an open vet/get him in to our regular. Thankfully he's up to date on shots.
