Roommate question

do people at Queens typically choose random roommates or do a lot of people find their roommates from reaching out on Instagram. Because I didn’t really realize that people actually reached out to people on Instagram to be roommates I am now kind of stuck with the random roommate option. Is that normal for a lot of people and does that turn out to be ok or is there a lot of conflicts that occur within that. Also follow up question does Queens let you know who your roommate is once they assign that person to your room or do you find out on the day you move in?

Res help

basically I got a really good timeslot for residence slection but I just don’t know which residence to go for. My top choice is Vic Hall just because of the fact that the bathrooms aren’t communal and my other option is Lenny but to roommate with two other girls just so that yet again I have my own bathroom, just cause I think my main thing that I really want is like my own like privacy in the bathroom so I think that is why those are my two options, now which one would you recommend more Lenny with two other roommates or should I just do Vic with one other roommate and just deal with like the social aspect of it all because I like the fact that Vic is very social but I know that it can get pretty hectic but if anyone has any comments let me know.

Course Selection

Hi,
I will be entering my first year at Queens University with the program of bachelors of science with honours, I’m pretty sure I just went in general but in OUAC I specified that I liked bio/psych. Now I can’t find anything specifying like any recommended courses or anything like that because there’s no page that just shows bachelors of science with honours. then I was looking at the life sciences one and it said that anybody in bachelors of science honours would also be taking the same courses as them, but I don’t actually know if that’s true or not I could’ve also just misread it, but basically my question is, is there any like courses that I have to take or that I don’t and how can I find this information out like I’m just very confused by the whole process because I can’t find anything that’s just general. Also if I do have any required courses would they already be in my planner? Anyway sorry if this was confusing but if anyone could help out in anyway that would be great!

Res help

Hii, so currently for Res my top three options are the john deutsch, vic hall, and gordon, which one would you think is like the best one or like do you think these are all good options or is there like any pros and cons or anything like negative that I need to know about any of these.

Also how does the residency application work, like I filled in the one that asked questions like “do you like your room hot or cold” and like “what would you like your roommate to know” but when you’re actually applying for like the residency how do you do that, also can you ask to be with someone that you know for dorms?

Queens Res

Hi! basically I accepted my offer for general science with honours a couple of weeks ago and I paid all the deposits for guaranteed res because I got in before April 15, I made sure to pay all the deposits and stuff like that but my question is I got waitlisted for life sciences and biochem and if I get off the waitlist for that I might accept it but will I still have guaranteed res if I accept that offer or no, because the reason why I’m confused is because my guidance counsellor told me that I probably still would have guaranteed res because they technically reserved a spot for me but also at the same time on the website it says only offers that get sent out before April 15 equal guaranteed to res, so anyways I’m just a bit confused about that so if someone could clarify that would be great or give me an answer that’ll be great

PSA: not entirely sure if I would accept the life sciences offer but I’m still wondering because that’s something I need to consider as I live three hours away so I definitely need guaranteed res
