I discovered this page while browsing Reddit a few weeks ago.

I'm pretty new to technology, but I downloaded pirated games when I was a kid. I probably got a lot of viruses on my PC, but it didn't matter because there was nothing of value. I have my own personal PC, and I have some things worthless to anyone else in my documents. I'm a little worried because my Gmail account might contain passwords for websites like my bank and other financial sites. Two years ago, I was hacked after downloading a pirated program. Obviously, it was my fault for not knowing what I was doing. They stole all my accounts (which I later recovered), and they sold items from my Steam account and extracted money from it. It was a terrible headache.

Yes, verifying the official website, using an ad blocker—I understand the protocol. I downloaded a game from the site but didn't run it because I hesitated, possibly due to the trauma of that hack. Since then, I've been extremely cautious, and I let this with those who know.

My question is: do you use your personal PC to play pirated games? Logically, it would be wiser to play on a PC that doesn't have sensitive data like your personal email with saved passwords, etc., but if I'm looking for pirated games, it's because I'm broke.

I've thought about formatting my PC, downloading some games, playing them, and then formatting the PC again and restoring my data, but I'm too lazy, lol.

I just wanted to play a few games. I was in bed for a couple of days with the flu, and it would have been nice to pass the time playing games I was interested in before going back to my work routine, that's all.

I understand the risk of piracy; you shouldn't trust anyone blindly.
