Asian Le Mans Series announces changes to the 2026 calendar
The Asian Le Mans Series organisers are poised to revise the the 2026 calendar replacing the planned trips to Dubai and Abu Dhabi with races at Mallory Park & Cadwell Park in response to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The contingency plan is expected to be implemented pending the necessary ratification after the next FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting, believed to be July 23rd, assuming there is no significant improvement in the security situation in the Gulf region.
"We looked at various different venues but it was clear that Mallory & Cadwell had the outstanding British weather at that time of year & pit facilities that could easily accommodate the 40+car entry."
The Mallory Park race will take place on the traditional annual Boxing Day meeting date at Mallory on December 26th.

Guy Edwards: 1942-2026
https://www.dailysportscar.com/2026/06/21/guy-edwards-1942-2026.html
Guy was a very good driver but a legend putting together sponsorship deals for example the Andy Rouse Kaliber Ford Sierra RS500 or Skoal Bandit Porsche 956.When sportscar racing was struggling in the late 1970s in the Gr6,5,4 days I remember him taking on Porsche in the Lola T600.Back then privateers or AM drivers could win the overall race with some luck but Guy was good enough to be a Gold rated driver today. He had some clever ideas. He would put a magazine or newspaper on the side of his car for free and then get another company like Kaliber to sponsor his car & team & Kaliber would get free or heavily discounted advertising in magazines like Newsweek or Autocar magazine.Great deal for everyone. His book on sponsorship is essential reading for drivers trying to gain backing for racing.
This is a nice story for one of Guy's cars, winning at the weekend.
