Yet another VTI/VT post

For the last 5 years or so (since the birth of my grandchild) I’ve contributed $5 a day (cost of a Starbucks coffee, basically) to an E\*trade account, and I buy VTI when I’m able. I don’t check it, I don’t worry about it, I don’t move it. I set up a 2nd account about 6 months ago and did the same when my 2nd grandchild was born. Obviously I’m buying less VTI because it takes longer to accumulate the cost of a share. That is the extent of my investments.

Recently, I got access to approximately 100k, and since I have no immediate needs, I considered just buying VTI or VT and leaving it.

At current prices, is that crazy, stupid, practical, or something else?

I don’t know how

My mom died almost 3 weeks ago. My dad and I took her off life support and waited two days for her to go. She had kidney disease and heart failure and cancer, so it was kind of a relief and not really a surprise. In fact, when I got the call that she was in the hospital, I brought my funeral suit, cuz I just knew.

I’m an only child and the funeral arrangements went so smoothly financially and logistically that the rest of my family (aunts, uncles, cousins) was in awe. It was like I just checked a box and got everything done.

I spoke at the funeral and, except for one brief pause to gather myself, I read the obit that I had written with no problem and also adlibbed in the moment.

I have taken care of my dads current stuff (switching cell, cable, etc) and attended to his needs. And this past Friday and Saturday I wrote and mailed 60+ personalized thank you notes with small momentos included.

I have been so busy over the last 16 days that I only had one moment of crying…in bed when everything was quiet.

And now I’m done . There’s nothing left to do, and I know that I need to let go and get it out, because I feel something, but it’s not quite in reach.

I just don’t think I know how to grieve, and I don’t know what I should do.

6 figure Roadmap for Safety Pros or those wanting a foot in the door.

My boss shared this link with me this morning, and I wanted to hate on it, because it's basically the information that we give on here for free.

However, this guy has done a nice job of presenting the information, and some people absorb info better this way rather than random reddit advice.

Anyway, check it out. I've got no horse in the race
