I’ve lived here for many years. Lately I have been finding that almost anytime I take a walk the cars are insane.

Driving fast, blaring music, not stopping properly, honking at bikers etc.

It got so bad that when I cross the street I pull my dog’s leash super closer because I’m afraid that if she’s a few paces behind me a speeding car might not see her and hit her.

My question- I can’t tell if I’ve just gotten more conscious of these issues, or if they’ve genuinely gotten worse.

I love open streets and am clearly not a fan of cars- but are drivers reacting to these restrictions in a an angrier way and making things paradoxically less safe for pedestrians?

Curious about other’s experiences.

ADDING- are there any groups or advocates working around this issue ?

Show me your cat walls that span long hallways!
I have a 30 foot narrow space I’m thinking of converting.

Long shot but I’m looking for some options for a renter friendly cat wall.

Is there something like command strips (but safer of course)?
Maybe there is something I can do lower to the ground or some sort of floor to ceiling tension?

I have an extremely long hallway that my dog loves to run up and down. I would love to give my future cat an option for these moments if needed.

Edited to clarify that I do not plan to use command strips :) just looking for something out of the ordinary that may work.

Looking for cheapest/ easiest way to rent a car so I can leave the city for a weekend. Lived here forever and have never rented a car here.

Any recs or places or avoid?

There were a bunch of people and two dogs- one blood hound on leash, one Cane Corso (I think) off leash.

I walked by with my dog (on leash) and the off-leash Corso jumped on my dog. People ended up kicking the Corso out of the way 😢.

Thankfully only damage was some soot on my dog’s fur but that could have been really bad.
