I really really want to support local shops, but they have to want our support, right? I week or so I walked by Eve & Mike (on Franklin and St Marks) and it was closed all day on a Monday, with a sign that said "AC Broken" on it. And today (Wednesday, August 19th, 12:30pm) closed, no sign.
Any recommendations of other non-chain pharmacies near by? I'd rather not give in and start using the ubiquitous online delivery pharmacy.

Rescue is full of cats people love but overlook in reality. In rescue, waiting can become its own kind of heartbreak. Sugar Rush and Sweet Tooth have built their entire world around each other. Bonded cats don’t just share a home. They share emotional safety. But sadly, as they get older, adoption interest drops drastically. Add a “bonded” pair to the equation, and the chances become even slimmer. The longer cats wait in rescue, the more invisible they become. These siblings have been patiently waiting for seven months with no adoption interest. The worst part is that they're losing their foster through no fault of their own. I have only one week left to find to secure placement, and I'm totally freaking out. Please help me find a family that sees their worth. I’ve been attempting to try this place for weeks now every single time I go they’re closed. I tried to go when their soft opening hours said they were open and they’ve been closed. Has anyone managed to actually get in there and does anyone know when they’re planning a normal opening? seems like a strange strategy to build a customer base.

Does anyone know anything about the state or sale of this property? I walk by it occasionally to get to either the market, or the gym, and if it's night time, I usually cross the street to walk on the opposite side because a) it smells like piss, b) has trash all over sidewalk, c) has several small groups of people standing on the sidewalk in front of the property, d) has a person or two sleeping on the sidewalk in front of the property, e) is dark and unlit. Quite frankly, it's a shit show. I know there's a 350 person capacity shelter across the street on Bedford Ave, and I can't help but assume that the people I see out front St. Bartholomew's are there because of its proximity to the shelter. In any case, I just want to know if anyone knows anything else about this place. Like I said, it's a shit show. Shame on the owners for not maintaining it or doing something good for the community with it. I bet it was beautiful once upon a time.
posting again because I have a better photo! I was walking outside my apartment door and this little guy was in the corner (soaking wet). I tried to encourage him outside after the rain stopped thinking he may be an outdoor cat who ran in but he is terrified and does not seem like he is comfortable with outdoors. I’ve put up posters and am taking him to the vet to check for a microchip. also knocked on neighbors doors and no one seems to know him. he’s very very shy and hasn’t been eating much but seems well groomed. found near sterling pl and nostrand ave.

Found a small maltipoo type dog with a harness and leash still attached on Marcy/Lexington Friday, August 14. No collar or microchip. Seems to be less than a year old. Please reach out if you know anyone who might know the owner!
