Are as good as his on-field skills.

George Hewett came back into the side and plays a new role. While he was a great inside contest player last season, he has now become a damaging outside forward half player kicking goals and amassing score involvements. I think he is as good as ever now.

Jagga Smith back on ball is huge. He was being wasted at half forward. He needs to be around the ball and get his hands on the footy to have a big impact.

Billy Wilson who finally gets a real chance, really helps our ball movement off halfback

Talor Byrne back into the side, brings so much intensity in the forward half, it is infectious.

Maybe the most Impactful move yet, Will Hayward from the forward line to the wing. Improved the whole team structure drastically.

Really innovative thinking by the coaching staff. It is great being a Carlton supporter at the moment.

Rookie me called him “An inside midfielder similar to West Coast’s Jack Redden” that “does not boast explosive speed” in their draft profile.

The former is backed up by his 3.08 second 20 metres sprint at the 2019 national combine, which is generally considered pretty slow.

The fact he didn’t kick a single goal in 4 games at the national champs showed a lack of damage on the biggest stage before being drafted.

Fast forward, Chad Warner has been one of the most damaging and most explosive mids in the comp with a distinctively penetrating kick that allows him to kick goals from outside 50 on a regular basis for years now. He is now much closer to a West Coast Chris Judd than he is to a Jack Redden. What an insane transformation. All credit to Sydney, recognising what he could become in an AFL system.
