Many people have advised against HP chromebooks because of " Hinge Issues ". My 3 HP chromebooks were before 2021, all glossy and 1080p, all 4gb ram and aesthetically pleasing, lovely Snow White. The one I now must give up due to AUE , still gets compliments and display wonderful, no hinge issue.

The ones available made after 2024 are ugly. But on the whole, less issues except the hinge comments. So, when did the hinge issue begin, and is it worse with x360 touchscreens ?

I am looking at a new HP chromebook at HP. The model is HP Chromebook x360, 14bt-ce000. N150 processor, 4gb ram and a 2k screen. Does the ram affect the 2k screen ? What do you think of this chromebook ?

I am sticking with HP. I have been only considering 1080p with glossy screens. Also , the glacier color is hard to find. Any info appreciated.

A new HP 14 chromebook at HP.com has a n150 processor, 4gb ram, and a 2k screen. Do you have one, does it run hot ( fan or touch ) ? Do you like it ?

The combo of small processor, 4gb ram and a 2k screen surprised me. And it is also at Best Buy

Is anyone using 4gb ram in an HP Chromebook made in the last 2 years , and do you like it ?

I am forced due to no longer getting updates to give up a lovely HP chromebook with 4gb ram and an Intel Celeron N3350 processor. Has an 1080p screen ! It is snow white. Lovely and all the chromebooks look ugly compared. But it is dying.

I am looking for an HP chromebook, and running cool and fanless is very important to me , and 8gb ram. The processors of my favorite ones have N100, N200, N305 and N355. Will the N355 be substantially hotter than all , with fan running or needing a cooling pad ?

I am staying with the fanless chromebooks, but I do not want it to be slow or obsolete quickly. Thank You.

I am looking at 2024 ( and more recent ) HP Chromebooks, and favor touchscreens because they are glossy. And only 8gb ram, 14 inch screen with FHD IPS. And only Chrome OS. If you have one like this , HP only please tell me if you are happy or unhappy and why .

Thank You, so many on this sub have Lenovo, Acer or Asus. I intend to stick with HP.

So, which is better , Touchscreen laptop with keyboard, or regular screen with keyboard ? What do you like or hate ? Which type stops working for no reason ?

Do chromebooks with touchscreens have software issues or any problems that antiglare regular screens do not ?

I do not mean smudges etc, or screen cracks. I mean you turn on a chromebook or laptop, and the screen is blue, glitchy, will not connect. I am attracted to touch screens because of that old fashioned glossy screen with a better picture.

I have been reading reviews of 14 inch , 8 gb ram chromebooks with FHD IPS anti glare screens. Why are some people saying their screen/picture looks washed out ? Shouldn't it look great ?

My chromebook ( which no longer updates ) is 1080p, 4gb ram and HD . It looks okay, not as good as my friends 11 in , 4gb glossy screen which also is old. Neither of us can afford an OLED screen. So, why do people complain about the washed out picture ?

I am helping a gentleman choose a new chromebook. Can a chromebook ( Chrome OS ) have " FHD IPS 1080i ) display ? I thought it was either FHD or IPS .

His chromebook is 8 years old and a glossy screen which he likes. None of the new ones have glossy screens ( this one has anti glare ). And it has 1080p, so that is a must. I am having to learn for both of us because my chromebook has stopped updates. He loves sport, and we both love art and movies. Can the FHD IPS 1080p combo be equal to a glossy screen ?
