Disappointed.

Heavily disappointed in this subreddit because the gatekeeping here is exhausting.

If you aren't one of the same five regular sellers always here or posting a piece of museum-grade Australian rough, you get completely ignored. New collectors come here excited to show off their first modest purchase or ask an honest question about a stone, and they get met with absolute silence. Meanwhile, the top posts are just the same people back slapping each other over the same inventory.

A hobby community should be about lifting up newcomers, and spreading useful information for everyone, not ignoring those entirely who don’t have investment level pieces.

Ethiopian Opals 7.3Cts total

What’s a good value range for them? And if anyone wants to buy let me know I prefer Australian opal

Post Update

Posted on my other account but it was taken down due to low karma I guess. I posted my Australian lightning ridge opal rough stones and was asked for a better visual in natural light. Here’s a video of them in distilled water exposed to natural sunlight.
