This stairwell gave me the chills every time I used it.

This stairwell gave me the chills every time I used it.

I would have climbed these beauties with a broken leg before missing the opportunity to slide my hands across its warm, gorgeous rails. I tried to move silently in this library of steps as I imagined a multitude of great minds rising and falling in space. Hyper neural jellyfish in a cycle lasting generations. (NBI, October 2001)

What was going on in Sandborn, MN (population 323) in the 30’-40’s? Why did they offer such fancy souvenirs?

Found these while cleaning up my mom’s house after she passed. A branch of our family lived in Southwest Minnesota, Little House on the Prairie country, after they immigrated to the US. I know almost nothing about how and why they moved from Germany to the absolute middle of nowhere. It seems like the town only exists because it was a railroad stop. Does anyone have any info on this little town?
