Highest TSH I’ve ever had

Currently on 100mcg synthroid
When I was on 225 mcg synthroid my tsh was <1 and my free t3 was still @ 2

Does this mean I need to add t3 most likely?

Really needing to feel better! Would like to take armor thyroid just not sure which dose to start if I’m taking 100mcg synthroid currently

I’m the most hypothyroid I’ve ever been in life now! I feel so validated now for gaining like 40 pounds in 3.5 months and know it’s not my fault. I knew I was going to go hypo to be able to take t3 but sheesh this is the highest my tsh ever was and I’m medicated now. I can’t believe I’m able to do anything! When I was first diagnosed it was 4 and I was really bad. I’m proud of myself for surviving this hell

Would t3 increase my free t4 as well?

Anyone having guilt from fatigue today?

It’s Fourth of July. I can barely even ride along in the car. My neck feels so swollen on and off that it’s giving me anxiety with feeling like I’m wearing a turtle neck. Headache.. eye sensitivity… I seriously feel hungover everyday of my life. I hate this life so much. I’m so mad I have hashimoto’s and hypothyroid. There’s so much I want to do with my life. There’s so much I want to do today with my kids. I want to make memories. I want to be able to run. I want to be able to want to do things besides be bed bound. So much time is wasted. Why does this not qualify for disability. So much I’m losing time, money, memories.. stollen from me because of this. I hate this disease. Why did it have to happen to me. :’(

Needed to let that out along with some tears

Feel free to vent below if you need to

Glp-1 benefits ??

To preface.. currently I’m hypothyroid and currently gaining but have had a gastric sleeve and don’t need to be less hungry, just need to fix my levels, I know that.

I’m wondering what other benefits this would give to someone with hashimoto’s, I don’t know much about them but am trying to learn the benefits besides weight loss

Did you switch to armor thyroid?

I’m currently on 100mcg synthroid and wanting to switch to armor thyroid. I’m thinking I should start at the lowest dose and move my way up but my doctor said there’s a conversion and I’d switch to that one which is 60mg vs 15mg starting. I’m sure she’d be fine with me starting at 15 but just wondering if anyone else switched and started at the lowest dose and worked up and if so how long you were on it. Thanks!

Levothyroxine sucks.. armor questions

I didn’t take it yet today and have to take anxiety and depression medicine as well as a mood stabilizer. I always feel so crappy after taking my medicine. Well I don’t have anxiety and depression which I now see is the side effects of the Levothyroxine.. granted some half life is in me I know that, but wow.

I used to take armor thyroid and didn’t need an SSRI, a mood stabilizer, a benzo…

Converting soon wondering did anyone else need to take any of the above with Levothyroxine bonus points if anyone didn’t need to take it after moving to armor thyroid

.. I had to go to the psych ward from being overly prescribed a few months back. It caused me psychosis. I thought it was post partum psychosis but I see now that my dr didn’t lower me post partum

Levothyroxine/synthroid really sucks.

Wondering if anyone has tried armor and synthroid and actually prefers synthroid

I read they did a blind study and 80% preferred armor thyroid and wondering how much of that is true.

I’ve also read scientific papers that high t4 because of bad conversion makes us 17 times more likely to have a heart attack.. if reading that causes anxiety I’m sorry.. it could very well be the levothyroxine giving the anxiety. Because when I read that now I am able to rationally see it as oh well I know I’m a bad converter from my free t3 and I’m thankful I’m no longer taking 400mcg of t4 (which is a crazy high amount I can’t believe I was rx’d ten years on!)

TLDR: did you switch to armor and feel like a normal person again? Did you start at the lowest amount armor and move up?

Help with lab results

On 225 mcg my tsh was .09 free t3 was 1.9 and free t4 was 1.53

Was given lio but landed in the ER for extreme anxiety.. think it may be related to some post partum mental health issues.
My doctor decreased my dose to 100mcg in hopes that we could then add t3. It’s been two weeks, I’m so so so fatigued but coffee gives me anxiety.

*If I’m sensitive to caffeine and have anxiety easily won’t t3 or armor thyroid give me anxiety as well?

*if you were an endocrinologist what plan would you have for me?

*from your knowledge and what you know, would you wait til tsh increases to add t3? I’m wondering if low tsh when trying t3 causes anxiety.

(I know to see a medical professional but would like to see feedback)

Notes:

The last time my free t3 was at 3.5 I was taking 350mcg levothyroxine, my tsh was .04 and my free t4 was 1.62. I took that dosage for ten years.

4 months Post partum my dose wasn’t lowered and was 400 and my tsh was <.005, free t3 4.2, free t4 2.48

Is it possible to go from Synthroid to armor thyroid without a tsh decrease?

For context:

I have a low tsh (.09) and high reverse t3 (23) and am hyperthyroid but fatigued because I was prescribed too much t4 (225 mcg synthroid). When I told my endocrinologist I was fatigued she said never mind the reverse t3 and focused just on the free t3 of 1.9. She suggested getting t3(landed me in the ER) or increasing my synthroid to 250 to 275. I’ve since learned it’s low because my reverse t3 is high and my body is doing what it needs for me to survive. This endo also didn’t decrease my dose post partum and I ended up having psychosis and tsh >.005

Fast forward.. I went to a functional medicine doctor. She explained that it’s a paradox. I’m tired because I’m getting too much thyroid hormone not too little. She said I should decrease to 100mcg.

I did and have less intrusive thoughts and anxiety and after 6 hours was able to actually not be bed bound and give my son a bath.

Here’s my question and issue… I’ve always had low tsh and high free t4, both out of range, to have a free t3 of around 3.5… to feel normal…

Since t3 works instantly is there a way I would convert from synthroid to armor thyroid without feeling hyper? Do I have to first become hypo on synthroid in order to begin armor thyroid? I’m not sure if this makes sense entirely but hopefully someone will understand what I’m saying, it’s kinda uniquely complex.

I’m trying to figure out the road to get to armor thyroid again and wondering if I have to become hypo first since the t3 is immediate with armor. Sorry to be redundant. I, like everyone here I guess, just want to freaking feel normal. I’m trying to move my family cross country.. right now can’t even make dinner. We sold our home and are living in an Airbnb waiting on ME to be better in order to move.

Can anyone shed light on this or have a similar experience?

Is it possible to be hyper and hypo at the same time .05 tsh 1.9 free t3

Doctors are telling me it’s depression. When I add t3 I get so much anxiety. I feel okay until I take my levothyroxine (225mcg) and then I get intense anxiety and even psychosis somewhat. I am on an SSRI but the other day I separated them out to see what medicine is doing what and it’s the levothyroxine that is giving me the intense anxiety. I thought maybe it was still SSRI activation but it’s not, I waited to take that. Then the next day I took that first and mentally felt more energy then the levothyroxine became debilitating. But with my reverse t3 at 23 I’m trying to think is it smart to decrease my levo and then do a t4 t3 therapy alongside increasing my SSRI? Unpopular opinion but I feel like my SSRI needs an increase because my t3 is bottomed out. I’m also six months post partum so maybe it’s post partum depression but I feel like that would be corrected if my t3 was corrected.

Thoughts input advice?

What should I do

I take 225mcg levothyroxine daily. My labs are

Tsh .09

I feel like shit I can’t get out of bed I’ve gained so much weight. I can’t think straight. I have no energy for anything. I’m basically bedbound

Advice please.

I have a question. My doctor prescribed me t3, 5mcg liothyroxine, but said to continue taking 225mcg Levothyroxine and not lower it. I feel like I need to lower that if I’m taking t3 now. I haven’t started to take it because I’m scared to. I get anxiety taking levothyroxine dose at the level it’s at but I need to for the physical energy… I’m going through hell with anxiety and barely hanging afloat physically.. and I’m scared to take the t3 because I’m afraid it will give me even more.. or maybe it’s because I’m being over medicated with levothyroxine. Idk. I have no energy brain fog bed bound but wired. Side effects of low tsh and low free t3 at the same time.. I’m not entirely sure what to do. She also said that t3 doesn’t lower tsh further and that I need to also wait 4 hours for calcium and iron when I know that isn’t the case. I’m not sure what to do exactly but I’m hoping I’m getting enough t3 to survive.

My levels are:

free t3 1.9
Tsh .09 (increasing after lowering levothyroxine from 500mcg tsh .005 to 225mcg)
( I was on 500mcg while pregnant and for the ten years prior I was on 400mcg Levothyroxine and always needing anxiety medicine my free t4 was always on the higher side to get free t3 about 3.5..)
Free t4 2.53

Would you decrease your levothyroxine and take t3?
Not decrease levothyroxine?
Wait to take t3 until tsh is higher?
I feel best in the morning before I take my levothyroxine mentally.

Idk what to do but I need help. I’m sorry this is all over the place. I have brain fog and I’m unable to be coherent like normal. Thank you
