Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) official bar/restaurant affiliation

Not for /brum, sorry.

I have managed to convince Marty’s GM to be the official bar/restaurant setting to host our beleaguered team for Premier League viewings.

I cannot guarantee them opening for matches before 10a, but it’s a start.

Berkley just ordered a flag.

So, if you’re a Spurs fan, I hope to see you next Saturday at 11:30a against Man U. #COYS!

Sidewalk Film Fest volunteers needed

Yes, I know this is being shared occasionally, but I just saw they posted again, so they must really need help! It’s a great week in Birmingham surrounded by thousands of your best friends.

“IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO VOLUNTEER FOR SIDEWALK FEST!

We have still have plenty of volunteer positions to fill at these events/venues!

Shift and perk information can be found at

Brunch ideas?

Been a hot minute since this has been asked (yes, I’ve searched).

Where are your Saturday/Sunday brunch places? Preferably ones that don’t break the bank. Are there any ones that offer something interesting and outside the box?

What does hungover you want this morning? Let’s get crazy.

Also, let’s please not drag down any businesses here. Let’s prop up the ones you love. ❤️

Festival Center Bowling Alley

Nosy self is curious.

Several months ago, I heard there was a bowling alley going in across from the Home Depot on Crestwood Blvd, so I went and peeked through the window. Indeed, there was construction going on and to the right looking in were a bunch of pool tables, and to the left, there were obvious bowling lanes being built.

It seems things have been stagnant for a while.

Anyone have any intel?

Birthday dinner suggestions?

Hi folks, I’m very familiar with New Orleans, but not so much the restaurants that have popped up since I left after Katrina 😂.

I’m heading down for a 50th bday trip the week between Christmas and NYE, and I’m curious of your recs for restaurants that can accommodate all the meat eaters and all the veggies. I would think we’ll have a party of about 10-12, but that’s fluid.

I’m easy, I prefer casual but casual/fancier can work, too, if the place is a good fit.

I know this is very vague, but I know Domilise’s ain’t gonna be my by bday dinner (but they’ll get a visit from me). If this question is not allowed, please refer me to the correct sub.

Thanks from Birmingham

W124

I’m glad this flair has made an appearance. Some of us looooved the Craigslist OG. It doesn’t have to be romantic lol.

You, dark haired male, Billy’s/Whammy Coffee. You’ve appreciated my W124 wagon. Y’all seem fun. Let’s hang.

Taiwanese Street Food

Anyone have insider info or know who’s opening the Taiwanese Street Food place where Lag’s/Lolo’s was?

Curious of their socials, if they have em, and especially curious of keeping up with their opening.

I also want to know if it’s going to have a different name or if “Taiwanese Street Food” is the business name lol.

Thanks!

Pedicure recs

Past searches are not great.

I’m on my feet all day on concrete. I value a pedicure that also includes an incredible lower leg massage.

Where ya going these days? Yes, men like and need pedicures…

Thanks!

Brick Store Pub

Please, someone with money and vision, create an exact replica of the Brick Store Pub in Decatur (Atlanta) here in Birmingham.

I would do dirty things.

I love Birmingham, but I feel we are lacking in this kind of establishment.

Oh yeah, and Home Grown.

There’s been a water leak/issue in Highland Park the last few days and I think Rojo is on its third day of having to close.

Please try to give them some business when you can once they reopen.

Reddit will obviously bring out comments from those who don’t care for Rojo, but this is just a simple plea from someone who values the community and friendships I’ve made there over the years. This kind of closure can ruin a business.

They actually pay their vendors and creditors!

(Also, why does this sub require “flair” to post lol?)
