Replacing the GA-100 battery

Has anyone had experience replacing the battery in a GA-100? Mine died today after 3 years, and I went to the store where I usually replace the batteries in all my watches (I'm from Portugal), where they told me it would take about a month because it always has to go to the manufacturer and would cost around €20.
Has anyone else been through this? Is it normal to have to go to the manufacturer to replace a battery? It's my first G-Shock.

Hey guys. I have a B6 Avant that stopped opening the driver's side window, I believe it's the window regulator. However, coincidentally or not, I can no longer open the car windows using the car's remote. Not even directly on the door lock. Could these two issues be related? Any suggestions?
