So after seeing a magic of Bidet in Japan, I bought an electric bidet seat from Bunnings for $400 and thought another $600 should be enough for plumbing and adding a PowerPoint.

Plumber came in and quoted $3800 (seat supplied by me), basically to install different kind of backflow prevention and containment devices near the meter which requires annual inspection.

Are taking a piss or that is a legit cost of installing a bidet in Australia?
