I just had a Bafang BBS02 750w installed on my 10 year old Surly Ogre - originally built for touring with a Rohloff internally geared hub.

I moved to a very hilly region some years ago and just wasn’t using my bomb-proof - but heavy steel framed Surly. After the electric motor upgrade it tackles hills easily and I’ve effectively got a new bike using the original build (at half the price of a new one) I’m glad I upgraded and didn’t purchase a new off the shelf e-bike.

Also thanks to this feed for the many stories of upgrades that helped me decide.
