Anyone else feeling better and better about the Kap contract?

I think that signing is ultimately going to age like fine wine with how star players are getting paid. I think Carlsson is far from the only player getting more than 17M AAV this year, and most of them are worse than, or even with Kaprizov.

ELI5 How does ticketmaster and livenation have a complete duopoly on live music?

I can understand why a midsize band, or a concert played on a venue that is owned by one of these companies would default to using their service and lose a solid chunk of money.

But if i am running a major festival or concert, why wouldn’t i just pay some coders to develop a ticket distribution and payment service for that occasion, and continue using it every year thereafter. Surely it can’t be that hard to just develop your own version and pocket the money that ticketmaster would otherwise take.

Is the future bright?

Say Quinn signs a contract for 16-18 Million for 4-7 years, which is the most educated guess i can personally make, how is the team looking in terms of future succsess according to you guys?

Personally im kinda worried what the team will be and how Billy will figure it out with so many pending UFAs on our team. A bunch of aging vets need to be replaced or resigned.

Yurov seems to be a lock for 2C in the coming years, 27 points in his rookie season is very respectable with 13min/toi per game.

Wally is obviously our starting goalie moving forward, which does give us the chance to move Gus in a deal to a team like Edmonton.

DHunt looked alright for his first playoff, had some defencive lapses, but he was definetly leagues above Midsy.

Brink was a great pull for trading the disaster that is Jiricheck, but he was kinda disappointing in the playoffs.

Anyone wanna add some thoughts? I personally think the team is much much better at the end of season then it was at the start, before the Hughes trade i felt we were doomed to another mushy middle, first round exit type of season. Can’t wait for a full season of Hughes and Faber tearing it up, hopefully we will have a an easier path to the cup next year!
